Really excited to announce that the AREA 51: Project Series Volume I audiobook is now in production! I had many talented narrators audition for the role of "Black Jack" Morrison and I think the one I choose nailed it. Keep checking for updates but I am thinking sometime in mid-October 2023.

S&W .38 Chiefs Special
If you look at my Instagram page (@FXRegan) I just posted a picture of a Smith & Wesson .38 Chiefs Special carried by Detective John "Black Jack Morrison" in my three AREA 51: Project novellas. OK, it's actually the 68-year-old weapon I carried for many years as a police officer then an FBI agent. It was either a backup gun or my primary weapon on less dangerous assignments.
For years, the Chief was on the FBI's list of approved personally owned weapons, and agents were only permitted to carry an approved POW on and off duty. During the middle '90s, all the revolvers were removed from the POW list, because the FBI actually maintained these weapons and it was not efficient to keep revolver parts when semi autos were taking over as the primary law enforcement weapon.
Does that mean agents stopped carrying the .38 Chief? I don't know. There's an old saying that a good gun won't make a bad shooting, good.
