A new corner of the interweb for Jesus Jackson

Screen Shot 2014-06-13 at 8.27.35 PM After what felt like a few hundred thousand hours of WordPressing and Photoshopping and HTMLing and pulling my hair out, I'm finally finished with the new page on my website for Jesus Jackson. It's got pictures, menus, parallaxes (if that is in fact a thing), lots of words, and even a form for reviewers to request ARCs.

I'm really very proud of it. Not to be immodest, but honestly, it is so choice. If you have the means, I highly recommend checking it out....

Shameless Plug Post #1: Jesus Jackson gets a Starred Review from Kirkus

Kirkus Star Well, I received my first review today, and it was as solid as I ever could have hoped for. Not only did Kirkus give Jesus Jackson one of their lovely little stars, but the reviewer really managed to capture the meaning and themes that I was attempting to achieve with the book perfectly. As good as it feels to receive a positive review, it feels even better to find out that someone really "gets" what I'm trying to say.

Check it out for yourself here:

Well, I wrote a book.

So I was looking at my sweet new author page, quite proud of myself for finally setting it up, but something was keeping me from being fully content with what I saw. At first, I couldn't quite tell what it was: Was it the sorrowfully low number parenthetically listed beside "James's Friends" in the widget on the left? Was it the fact that I had clearly reviewed and liked quite a few of my own books? Was it the oddity of seeing my twitter name without the "@" symbol in front of it?

No; alas: it was none of these.

It was the fact that the first mention of Jesus Jackson (my soon-to-be-released novel that compelled me to set up this page in the first place) was practically at the bottom of the page: wedged between two anthologies that I edited in a previous decade.

So, I figured, I shall remedy that. I shall make a Goodreads blog post telling everyone that I wrote a book, and even provide a picture of the cover.

Well then, here it is: I wrote a book. It's called Jesus Jackson, and you should totally read it and give it a million stars and buy a copy for everyone you ever met. There is probably even a picture of the cover somewhere on this page.

Feel free to send me a message if you'd like to ask me a question, talk about the book, request a review copy, etc. I'm not too sure how you will send this message, or how I will receive it, but go ahead and it give it a try anyway. It will probably work out in one way or another.
