Parish V. Damone is the pseudonym of Victor Damone McClendon, a Black author whose life journey is as powerful and transformative as the fiction he writes. Born in Milwaukee and raised in Louisiana, Victor graduated from Morgan City High School in 1984—the same year he enrolled at Southern University in Baton Rouge.

From 1984 to 1987, he was not only a student but a standout performer in the renowned Human Jukebox, Southern University’s world-famous HBCU marching band. His passion for music and performance was matched by a sense of service; he is a proud U.S. military veteran who received an honorable discharge after eight years of service, concluding in 1995.
