She now lives with her husband and two children in the greater Sacramento area.

Reviews for "Sweet Charlotte's Seventh Mistake":

“Sweet Charlotte’s Seventh Mistake is a visual feast of all the same documents and photos that lived on Crooks’ astonishing blog, A Gag Reflex. It is funny and heartbreaking, and it makes for an absorbing and compelling read.”
~ Cheryl Holliday, Emmy winning writer/producer of King of the Hill

“This is compassionate voyeurism at its best. As Crooks unflinchingly exposes every one of her dark secrets for all to share, she searches not only for who her family is, but who she is as well. A truly inspiring and fresh approach to a tough coming of age story and a must read for anyone, regardless of age.”
~Patrick O’Neil, Full Blue Moon Dementia

"More than just an autobiography, documentary or mystery, this work is a masterful literary checkmate."
~Indie, The Synchronicity of Indeterminacy

"“In Sweet Charlotte’s Seventh Mistake, Cori Crooks takes us on an intensely visual voyage of discovery. Adapted from her poignant, witty, offbeat blog – in which artwork, letters and newspaper notices were used to stunning effect – Crook’s search for identity (her own, her father’s) has now been transposed into a beautiful scrapbook format. It’s an innovative way to tell a highly personal, moving story and makes for compulsive reading.”
~Catherine Sanderson, ‘petite anglaise’

"Sweet Charlotte’s Seventh Mistake, recently published by Seal Press, is far more than just a blog transplanted to the page; it’s a chronicle of family dysfunction that is to memoir what sculpture is to Play-Doh."
~ Kel Munger, Sacramento News and Review

"If you like Cori Crooks' blog "A Gag Reflex," which documented her search to find the father she never knew, you'll love her new book. Crooks combines beautiful prose with photos, artwork and newspaper clippings to create a hilarious but heartbreaking chronicle of her search."
