It turns out the brilliantly talented writer and awesomely enjoyable to be with person Melissa Walker is a Lea Thompson fan. Is it the hair? the smile? the sunshine in Lea's voice? Possibly but I think it has more to do with Ms. Thompson's appearance in "Goonies" than anything else. Anyway, today it's Christmas in July.

I had a great time at the Hudson Children's Book Festival. I met so many great readers and got to hang out with some of my favorite writer-friends including, Barbara Dee, Julia Devillers and her twin Jen Roy who I met for the first time. I also got to meet Mayrose Wood (who I knew only electronically) and fellow Aladdin/SS author Helen Perelman.

On Wednesday May 25 I did a tremendously fun reading with my two friends, Madeleine George the author of "The Difference Between You and Me," and Carley Moore author of "The Stalker Chronicles." The NYU bookstore was so gracious and the attendace was wonderful. Thank you Yael Yisraeli  of the NYU bookstore for helping us set this up.

The Oreo cookie turned 100 this week. That's actually older than ME. So to celebrate her is my favorite Oreo cookie commercial from the 1980's featuring a bucket of kid actors.

Today is the official pub date of "Famous for Thirty Seconds" the first book in the COMMERCIAL BREAKS. In honor of this day I am revealing the cover for book 2 "Picture Perfect." What do you think?

The first book in COMMERCIAL BREAKS, "Famous for Thirty Seconds" is scheduled to be released on March 6 but I was in the USQ B&N on March 1 and there it was. I was on the phone with my sister when I saw it so it was very nice to be able to share it with her.

Doesn't the cover just jump out at you and scream, "Buy me!" Well, actually, I was standing next to it screaming that until I was asked to stop screaming in the bookstore.
