Jayne, an identical twin, born into a family of four to a factory‑worker father and a housewife mother, from a council estate in Birmingham.
As an identical twin, she came out of the womb not that keen on having had to share an egg, and secondly with half a personality. Hers, competitive and artistic; Jenny’s, studious and academic. Neither had confidence or self‑belief.
Widowed with two children and a legacy of alcohol and debt, she fought back.
Then she met David, and together they came up with the extraordinary idea to drive a Land Rover around the world.
Jayne was told she was going to live the dream, but soon realised that living two feet from David, twenty‑four hours a day, was no dream.
