She is looking at what he's showing her.
Alice : Books, such perfection- ugh!
Thinking of something else, he nods.
The White Rabbit : Books, yeah
Alice : Gosh, how did you become a good writer ?
The White Rabbit : How I became one, a writer, you already know
She nods quickly.
Alice : Unfortunately, I do know. Only too well!
The White Rabbit : As to how I became a good writer, if I am a good writer at all, well.....
Alice : Yes, yes go on. You can tell me
The White Rabbit : I keep falling in love with women. Despite myself. Despite what they are, how they are and what they want to but can't be, so they become what they need to be
Alice : Oh, you mean female bunnies, uncooked, cool so very, yes. Cute
The White Rabbit : naw, naw. I meant the human kind, your kind such as it is. Human women
She looks at the talking rabbit, a vague creature not even from the north that she's wont to follow to and into any warren, anywhere where she is free
Alice : Weird. Really that's weird. Women. Human. What a concept
The White Rabbit : And I'm using the term very loosely here
Alice :
The White Rabbit : Try again
Alice : For ?
Larry Brown : For both
Alicia : Now your turn
The White Rabbit : For both. Barely human and rarely humane.
Alice : I'm with you there, bunny
The White Rabbit gasps
The Not so white Ashen Rabbit : but, but they be your kind! And you're against them
She looks at him
Alice : They are not my kind
The White Rabbit : Women, not your kind, nonetheless are a recurring theme in my work that's just basically me dreaming about warpaint
Alice : Your work ?
The White Rabbit : Yeah, my work
He stares off vacantly past her. Then at her. He looks at her.
The White Rabbit : You didn't ask about my dream
Alice : I'm a part of your dream that we are still having, so why ask, should I ? There's no need and no Eva Green. We are in your tree-house. But not really
The White Rabbit : Alice, Alice, Alice, - my Alice. Like you, like you, I did. I do. Chose you, yes, chosen by me, choosing you I am. I followed you, didn't I. Now you are following me. How I've missed you. I didn't mind you that much to tell you the truth, mostly because you take particular care in how you smell for us mere Wanderers
Alice : You are so fake
The White Rabbit looks at her squarely. She isn't altogether comfortable with how he is looking at her.
Her White Rabbit : Did you get some of it, or all of it? Never mind that now, leave it aside, though leave me not, Villa. I've missed you, little one. I love you loads, but that's besides the point. I've been waiting
Her erstwhile White Rabbit touches his fluffy temple stained with blood, then points his trembling finger at her
Her once again White Rabbit : For you since the time when the cats ruled the dunes
Alice : Listen, I have tried to be gentle but allow me to be coarse now, please let me. Short and simple, and very easy to get. I missed you, too, baby.
The White Rabbit : Shut up, don't be daft and STOP simpering
She pantomimes zipping up her lips
Alice : Okies, shutting up and no longer being stupid. You know, I tried, I really did. For your books, through your books. But you know what, I ended up accepting them instead of you - for they were trying so hard to convince me of you.
She looks at what he needs to show her and she wants to see those unwritten books, too.
Alice : Hey, bro. Don't chase me
The White Rabbit : Tell me something. How come someone as pliable
Alice : And playful
The Whimsical Rabbit : And playful, is as unkissed as your dreams
Alice : Beats me! Maybe the Mad Hatter who is quite sane, ran out of dough
The Nihilist Rabbit : Maybe he didn't have the dough to begin with
Alice : But this isn't about the Winter
The White Rabbit : No it isn't. Put me in your mouth now, right now
Alice : Ohh goodie, rabbit stew. Slow-cooked. Yum
The White Rabbit : Not exactly
Alice : Thanks, I'll pass
The White Rabbit : Why won't you do it, do that, it can happen, you can fall too, you know
Alice : I'm too human and not human enough
The White Rabbit : you might end up falling anyway
She laughs at him
The White Rabbit : What, no. That's very human of you to deny your feelings and deny everything. Are you sure you not human ? Are you sure you can't do it ? You can still fall, you never know. It's a slippery world
Alice : Please, I'm not human enough to be human
The White Rabbit : You can still happen
Alice : Stop ! I'm dying. Oh shush !
The White Rabbit : Let's get you there then, shall we
The White Rabbit places his hands over his heart, fists joining together, knuckles touching, making a real heart over his false one, he pressed down his thumbs
The White Rabbit using ASL signed : Don't move
His fingers dribbling with the hues of his past, he moved toward her, grinning, thinking of his work, but what suddenly frightened him was the way she was smiling at him. What scared him the most and almost out of his mind, how that smile convinced him of her, converting him to her cause, as arbitrary as hers. In this book, she will always win
The White Rabbit : Together
Alice : We will
The White Rabbit : Disavow
Alice : Disown
The White Rabbit : Dissemble
Alice : Deconstruct
The White Rabbit : Destroy
Alice : All the warrens. Here and in between all the homes we've lost
The White Rabbit / Alice : We're discontent, so we'll dismiss and disassociate with all our wastelands that are no longer waiting for us. For we must dethrone every usurper and impostor queen; rip out their hearts, a heart we can share, two hearts eating a beating one and restore Marquess of Pembroke to the throne.
The White Rabbit : We will uproot every warren
Alice : Until there are no more woods to hide in, no more trees to cut down
The White Rabbit : No more inks to spill, no more papers to burn
Alice : So that there are no more nightmares at the end of the tunnel
The White Rabbit : Above all
Alice : Best of all
The White Rabbit : Until
Alice : There are no more merrows left to gut.
Alice : Books, such perfection- ugh!
