| A gorgeous retelling of one of my childhood favorites. This graphic novel does the story justice - which is high praise, indeed. | |

| So relatable (in incredibly gut-wrenching ways). Virginia is a truly flawed main character who makes a host of bad choices, goes along with her friends in putting others down, and completely refuses to admit to a crush - in other words, she's a reali ...more | |

“She thought of ... the way he never made made her feel crazy, even when she was acting crazy, and never made her feel like a failure, even when she was failing.”
― Landline
― Landline
“You don't know when you're twenty-three.
You don't know what it really means to crawl into someone else's life and stay there. You can't see all the ways you're going to get tangled, how you're going to bond skin to skin. How the idea of separating will feel in five years, in ten - in fifteen. When Georgie thought about divorce now, she imagined lying side by side with Neal on two operating tables while a team of doctors tried to unthread their vascular systems.
She didn't know at twenty-three.”

My pleasure to start knowing you, Nicole! I am Carolyn in Manitoba. Illinois isn't so far away. If you love sharing reviews, I think you would enjoy my blog's four reading themes. I scarcely call them "challenges" because they are highly relaxed, with the option for conversation and play as much as we wish. Their year starts tomorrow, February 1. :) https://cmriedel.wordpress.com/headqu...

My kids aren't old enough to be reading most of the books I read yet, but I always think that when they are, I would appreciate someone telling me about the content. That's why I've always included it in my reviews. Glad to hear that it's actually helped someone! Too bad I haven't read They All Fall Down! LOL!
