5 reasons reading books is better than watching movies

Reading for some of us is like meditation. Our love for books is directly proportional to our age. As we grow old, the love of books just keeps on multiplying. We do love a good movie, but we always think the movie never does justice to the novel it was supposedly based on. The list of reasons why novels are better than movies is very long, but these are the top 5 reasons reading books is better than watching movie.

TELLS US WHAT’S GOING ON INSIDE THE HEAD OF THE CHARACTER

Reading a novel gives you insight inside the character’s head, making it feel more relatable to why the character did what it did because we knew what he was thinking. On the other hand, in movies you always can’t connect to character because the actor wasn’t doing a good enough job of portraying his emotion. We book lovers tend to find movie tedious. I know people find books very boring because of the attention to detail it requires. And in this technology-oriented era, we have to admit our attention spans have taken a very big hit.

MODIFICATIONS MADE THAT ARE NOT ALWAYS FOR THE BETTER

Movie writers often modify the novels to suit their requirements, but end up somehow ruining the whole story, the biggest example being Game of Thrones. The most talked show a few years back ended up becoming the biggest disappointment of the decade. Movies are undoubtedly having always been low on details and we get it that they have to fit everything within a 2-hour frame, but I always appreciate the intricate details more to be satisfied with movies. Novels have a tendency to transport you to a whole different place amidst its course.

CHARACTER SPECIFICATIONS ARE BETTER IN NOVELS

Novels make you love each and every character as much as the main character that the movies majority of the time overlooks. Like in Harry Potter series, we all loved Doby in the movies, but those who have read the books have a whole another level of love for Doby and the movies did not do justice to Sirius Black like the books did. If you have read the book before watching the movie based on it, you’ll always be disappointed in the movie. We readers often complain that the characters were, not how they were described in the books, which ends up ruining the book as well as movies for us. The movie can never compare to the world that the author has already created for us.

GREAT LEADERS ARE ALWAYS AVID READRERS

Reading is a practice that most great leaders adapt over time. Reading has always been a great way of teaching yourself to be patient and in making you observant of details and in your overall personality development and the most important pro of reading a book is it does not impair your eyesight. Seriously, the less screen time you have, the better you are. And what better way than a day spent reading? The impact that reading can have on your vocabulary is nothing short of a miracle. Reading has proved to be such a great stress-buster. There’s nothing you can’t handle with a good book and a hot mug of your favorite drink when you are feeling blue. Reading makes our memory sharp and that is a thing that’ll be very handy for anyone.

WHAT’S A WORLD WITHOUT A LITTLE IMAGINATION?

You don’t have to imagine anything when you watch a movie, basically everything is served to you on the silver platter from the sceneries to the main lead’s looks. You just have to see what is in front of you and nothing else and you are done. But with books they gradually build up to every scene making your imagination blossom like a flower in spring. You have to keep track of everything from the beginning to the end in the fear of forgetting an important detail that’ll mess up the book. And seriously, how much scope to imagination can a movie just 2 hours give anyone? Basically zero. On the other hand, books have taught us to imagine how a mountain looks, how a new flower blooms and how the silence of a dark empty corridor can be chilling. The power of our imaginable is pretty cool, isn’t it? I mean the greatest shows and plays of all time are based on some spectacular novels written by the greatest minds ever born. The world is such a wonderful place with books in it. I mean would we be if we don’t have books? I can’t imagine a world without books in it. I wish more and more people will take up reading than they currently are.

Why one should read romantic books?

For readers who need more persuasive arguments or are yet on the threshold and need a stronger push to take the plunge, here’s more.

The apparent reason – To read about an ideal and true love. We don’t get flowers and chocolates and gifts every day. Everyday life is boring, so why not spark it up by reading about romantic love.Read romance because it’s predictable – happily ever after. It’s a powerful ending, and please remember that.Read romance for the banter and humor between the leads. I love it, and it’s so lively. To read about sex. Please don’t shy away, it’s a part of our life, so why not read about it. Don’t we read about finance and cooking and parenting? For the ideal men portrayed in them. Tall, dark, and handsome, along with honest, respectful, kind, loving, and romantic. They make us hopeful. To want to compare our relationship with the books. To those who are as yet single, be hopeful of finding ideal and true love someday. To read about superhuman female power. To learn from mistakes, the characters make in love and their relationships. To let our imagination run wild. Fiction, as a genre, enhances imagination. That is the reason book lovers end up discontent with movie adaptations of books because this is not how you imagined it.Romance helps grow our understanding of other people. It encourages empathy.Because it’s the most popular genre worldwide, that’s why.Because they’re written for women by women (it’s right 90% of the time), everything centered on a woman. And I am a woman.Because e-readers are here, and so are audiobooks, and I read the Fifty Shades trilogy on my Kindle. You don’t have to be ashamed of reading erotic romance in public now.Because they came in so many flavors, you’ll be amazed at the sub-genres you’ll find. Read on for details.

These reasons enough for you? Well, I love romantic books and don’t shy away from admitting it.

Am I a book lover only if I read books that need dictionaries or a stiff drink to make me understand their depth? Of course not.

So let me further into the romance journey and help you find your next read by telling you what to look for in a good romance novel.

What’s your Fav Superpower?

I always pick shifting.

Who doesn’t want to be someone else or something else anytime they want?

Forget the pain or whatever they talk about, I’m talking about the cartoon type shifting.

Like…Oh…..my boyfriend is coming, better shift into this lamp so I can eaves drop on his conversation with his friends.

That’s the power I want.

See if you can find a shifter power to love in one of these free books!

https://books.bookfunnel.com/freeshif...

Need something to do this weekend anyway, right?

All my love–Kay
