Xavier de Montepin is a popular French novelist. He is buried in old cemetery (Communal Cemetery West), 6 th Division, Boulogne-Billancourt in the Hauts-de-Seine beside the grave of his wife Louise and the Lesueur Lesueur Carolina.
Author of soap operas and popular dramas, he distinguished himself in the series. He is the author of one of the bestsellers of 19th century , The Bearer of Bread , published from 1884 to 1889 was successively adjusted to the theater, cinema and television.
The Poor Doctor , published in serial form from January to May 1861 in the illustrated journal The Paris Evenings was a plagiarism of a historical novel by Louis Jousserandot , a Republican lawyer. The trial took place in January 1863. Both complainants were sen ...more
