Brandon O'Brien is a poet, writer, critic and facilitator from Trinidad and Tobago. His work has been published in Uncanny Magazine, Strange Horizons, Reckoning, People of Colo(u)r Destroy Fantasy!, and New Worlds, Old Ways: Speculative Tales from the Caribbean, among other outlets. Brandon O'Brien I wrote the first poem in 'Can You Sign My Tentacle?' mostly as a joke; the lovely folks at Uncanny Magazine were having an online poetry reading, and…moreI wrote the first poem in 'Can You Sign My Tentacle?' mostly as a joke; the lovely folks at Uncanny Magazine were having an online poetry reading, and I didn't want to read something that was already published, so I wrote 'Hastur Asks for Donald Glover's Autograph' because it was in my brain at the time. And then I never thought about it much again. I didn't think it was going to turn into something beyond that.

But then Interstellar Flight Press opened for poetry submissions, and I thought about what pieces I already had that would make a coherent throughline of images, and it spoke to me again. I asked myself if there was more there. And I'm grateful not only that I think there was, but that since finishing the manuscript, I keep finding even more interesting things that are being said through it. (less)
