Mo Fanning is a British author based in the West Midlands. He writes sharp, warm-hearted contemporary fiction about people making a glorious mess of love, friendship and second chances, with queer lives at the centre and humour where it hurts.

His novels include Lisa Doyle is Absolutely Fine, a grown-up romcom about a fake engagement spiralling wildly out of control; Husbands, a darkly comic Hollywood mystery; Rainbows and Lollipops, a Birmingham-set story of grief, friendship and chosen family; Ghosted, a later-life Christmas romance set on a gay holiday cruise; and Rebuilding Alexandra Small, a funny, tender novel about starting over when life has gone badly off-script.

I’m not mad keen on it being really hot, and I very much regret mocking my neighbour who spaffed five hundred quid on a portable air-con unit in February.
