Latest IELTS Speaking questions from Oman – October 2025

Speaking test
Part 1 (Interview)
– Do you work or are you a student?
– Why did you choose your current field of work or study?
– What do you enjoy most about it?
– Do you use any gadgets in your daily life?
– Which gadget do you use most often?
– How have gadgets changed the way people live?
– Are there any gadgets you find unnecessary?
– Do you think people rely too much on technology nowadays?
Part 2 (Cue Card)
Describe a time when you saw something beautiful in the sky, such as a sunrise, sunset, fireworks display, or something else. You should say:
– what you saw
– when and where you saw it
– who you were with
and explain how you felt when you saw it.
Part 3 (Discussion)
– Why do people like to look at the sky?
– What natural phenomena in the sky do people find most fascinating?
– Do people in your country enjoy watching events like fireworks or meteor showers?
– How has technology helped us understand the sky better?
– Do you think light pollution affects how much people can enjoy the night sky?
– Should more effort be made to protect the natural view of the sky?

New IELTS questions from the UK – October 2025 (Academic Module)
We are truly grateful to Z.F. for sharing the writing tasks from the most recent IELTS exam in the UK, below:
Writing test
Writing task 1 (a report)
The tables below show the number of exchange students from a university in Europe going to a university in Australia, and the number of exchange students from a university in Australia going to universities in Europe, in the years 2007 and 2009.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
* Note: these is not the original tables given in the test, they were recreated for the purpose of demonstration.
Writing task 2 (an essay)
In many countries, companies hire more men than women for certain positions. Some people believe that employers should be required to recruit equal numbers of men and women in every field.
To what extent do you agree or disagree?

New IELTS Speaking questions from Australia – October 2025
The following Speaking questions were shared by our kind student L.P., who just took the IELTS test in Australia:
Speaking test
Part 1 (Interview)
– How many languages can you speak?
– When did you start learning your first foreign language?
– Do you think it’s difficult to learn a new language?
– What language would you like to learn in the future?
– How do people in your country usually learn foreign languages?
– Does it often rain in your hometown?
– How do you usually feel when it rains?
– What do people in your hometown do on rainy days?
Part 2 (Cue Card)
Describe a time when you heard or received incorrect information. You should say:
– when it happened
– what the incorrect information was
– how you found out it was wrong
and explain how you felt and what you did about it.
Part 3 (Discussion)
– Why do people need information in their daily lives?
– Why do some people find it hard to trust information they find online?
– Do you think people can easily tell whether information is true or false nowadays?
– What are some reliable sources of information in your country?
– How can schools help students learn to check the accuracy of information?
– Do you think misinformation can have serious effects on society?

IELTS Writing Test – General Training
Writing task 1 (a letter)
You recently read a book and noticed that it contains some incorrect information. Write a letter to the author of the book. In your letter:
– explain how you found out the information was wrong
– describe the incorrect information
– explain why it is important to correct the mistake
Write at least 150 words. You do NOT need to write any addresses.
Writing task 2 (an essay)
In many parts of the world, the proportion of older people is increasing. Do the advantages of this trend outweigh the disadvantages for society?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Part 1 (Interview)
– Do you live in a house or an apartment?
– Can you describe your home a little?
– What do you like about the place where you live now?
– Is there anything you would like to change about your home?
– Have you ever lost your phone before?
– How did you feel when it happened?
– Would you like to replace your phone with a new one soon?
– Do you think phones are too expensive these days?
Part 2 (Cue Card)
Describe a time when you said “thank you” to someone. You should say:
– who the person was
– what you were thanking them for
– how you expressed your gratitude
and explain how you felt after saying “thank you”.
Part 3 (Discussion)
– Do you think people today express gratitude as much as they should?
– Is it important for society as a whole to encourage people to say “thank you”?
– How do people in your country usually show appreciation?
– Do you think saying “thank you” is becoming less common in modern life? Why?
– How can schools or families teach children to be more thankful?

IELTS Writing Test – General Training
Writing task 1 (a letter)
Your friend and his/her family are planning to move to your hometown. Write a letter to your friend. In your letter:
– describe your family house and its surroundings
– recommend some good schools for his/her children
– suggest ways for the family to meet new people in the community
Write at least 150 words. You do NOT need to write any addresses.
Writing task 2 (an essay)
Some people believe that paying workers according to what they sell or produce is the best way to motivate them to work harder. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
