Nintendo console and hardware sales infographic through Q4 2025 – >879 million units!

The infographic that follows shows how many interchangeable cartridge consoles and handhelds Nintendo has sold from 1983 through late 2025. This includes their biggest flop, the Virtual Boy, at about 770,000 units sold, and their biggest hit to date, the Nintendo Switch, at 153,100 units and counting. If things continue to go well for the big N, they could hit the billion unit mark by 2033, give or take a year or two!

THEA1200 (Commodore Amiga 1200 plug and play) now available to buy in the US!

Although it’s been available for preorder for a little bit, THEA1200 hasn’t been available for US consumers, until now. Amazon has finally made their listing live, charging $189.99 for THEA1200. It’s a plug-and-play Commodore Amiga-compatible that comes with a wired gamepad and wired mouse. You can also run Amiga Workbench and add your own software to the 25 included titles via the proven WHDLoad system. You see the full list of features at this link. It’s an exciting system, although it’s important to note that it’s not expected to release until June 2026. Fortunately, Amazon doesn’t charge your card until the product actually ships.

As a reminder, Amazon also has the Atari Intellivision Sprint plug-and-play Mattel Intellivision console (full game list here), THE64 Mini – Black Edition plug-and-play Commodore 64 console / computer, and a whole host of other exciting vintage-inspired modern products.

Retro Games Ltd THEC64 Mini Black Edition – Game list and where to buy in the US!

The Retro Games Ltd THEC64 Mini Black Edition is available on Amazon US for $119.99. You can actually get it for $9.30 less, including shipping, on Amazon Germany. Unfortunately, with Import Charges and the Exchange rate guarantee fee, it comes to $135.48 as of this writing. So yeah, Amazon US it still is.

If you don’t want the new built-in games or the sleek black case and improved joystick, you can still get the original model of THEC64 Mini for just $51.00 as of this writing on Amazon US. That’s a great deal, of course. You can see the full game list for that version here. For that original version, there are more classic commercial games than modern homebrews. The new Black Edition focuses exclusively on modern homebrews.

The list of 25 games built into THEC64 Mini Black Edition is as follows:

A Pig QuestCaren and the Tangled TentaclesGalenciaGood KniightGrid PixGuns ‘N’ GhostsHessianHunter’s Moon RemasteredIt’s Magic 2Joe Gunn: Gold EditionKnight ‘N’ GrailMetal Warrior UltraMillie & MollyNixy and the Seeds of DoomOoze: The EscapeP0 SnakePains ‘N’ AchesPlanet GolfRocky Memphis: The Legend of AtlantisRunn ‘N’ GunnSam’s JourneyShadow SwitcherSpinning ImageSteel RangerYeti Mountain

Screenshot from the game, A Pig Quest for Commodore 64.A Pig Quest (C-64)

That is truly a murderer’s row of modern homebrews, showcasing the best of what the venerable Commodore 64 computer can pull off in the hands of talented developers using modern tools. Naturally, you can add your own games via USB stick.

Now, those of us in the US just have to wait for Retro Games Ltd to open up pre-orders for the full-size THEA1200, for even more Commodore Amiga fun over THEA500 Mini. THEC64 Maxi is also available from third party sellers, but unfortunately not for its usual low retail price anymore. Instead, I highly recommend you get a Commodore 64 Ultimate (don’t forget to use the link in the post for $10 off!), which is a modern version of the real deal original computer!

MAXGROOM Hair Clippers Set (WF-3908) – Quick Unboxing and Review

MAXGROOM Hair Clippers Set (WF-3908) – Quick Unboxing and Review

After loving the MAXGROOM Body Shaver Set (LK-881), I was excited to try the MAXGROOM Hair Clippers Set (WF-3908) (Product Link). I cut my own head hair, so this is the perfect package. It has a 9000RPM magnetic motor that’s able to easily handle my somewhat coarse black and gray hair.

This package is truly something special. In the box you get the main barber clipper razer, a secondary zero gap trimmer razer, eight sizes of razer guards – four of which are trimmer guards – four different combs, a semi-hard travel case, a professional hair cape, cleaning brush, USB-C to USB-A charging cable – although any USB-C charging will work fine – and a comprehensive user guide.

Before using the MAXGROOM Hair Clippers Set (WF-3908).Before using the MAXGROOM Hair Clippers Set (WF-3908).After using the MAXGROOM Hair Clippers Set (WF-3908).After using the MAXGROOM Hair Clippers Set (WF-3908).

As you can see from the before and after photos, it did a bang-up job on the sides and back of my head. It’s a smooth, satisfying cut. I also love the 100-minute runtime.

The usual price is under $80 for this set, but it’s often on sale for much less. Either way, it’s a heck of a deal and is now my go-to head hair cutting system. Between this and the Hair Clippers Set, it’s clear that MAXGROOM knows their stuff.

NOTE: MAXGROOM supplied me with the review unit, but this in no way influenced my review.

New study on how much vintage video game consoles would sell for in 2025

Although these are easy to do yourself, this was already compiled by CSDB.gg, so I figured it would be fun to share anyway:

SNK’s Neo Geo would be the most expensive console at $1,567.45However, SNK also makes the bottom of the list with its Neo Geo Pocket Color Despite being one of the biggest gaming companies in the world, Nintendo doesn’t make the top five

A new study has revealed how much you’d have to spend to buy classic consoles if they were released in 2025.

CS2 Experts at CSDB.gg examined the original prices for consoles sold between 1977 and 2000, including the Neo Geo and PlayStation. They analyzed inflation rates to determine their current worth.

In total, there were 27 systems from a variety of brands, with some appearing on the list more than once.

The highest price was SNK’s Neo Geo. When it was released in 1990, it cost gamers $649. In 2025, it would set you back by an eye-watering $1,567.45.

However, you could get a Neo Geo Pocket Color for much less, so inexpensive that it comes in last on the list at 27th. The much smaller console cost just $69.00 at the time of its release in 1999 and would cost $130.74 in 2025.

Other consoles in the top five most expensive in 2025 dollars include 3DO’s 3DO Interactive Multiplayer for $1,526.98, which originally cost $699Mattel’s Intellivision for $1,145.43 which sold for $299 in 1980, and two Atari consoles: the 1977 Atari 2600 that was then priced at $199 and the $249 5200, released in 1982.

In 2025, the Atari consoles would cost $1,036.59 and $879.93 respectively.

A brand that appears more than once on the list but fails to make it to the top five is gaming giant Nintendo. The Japan-based brand released six consoles between 1985 and 2000, with the most expensive being their original Nintendo Entertainment System

In today’s money, it would cost $583.80 while the retail price when it was released in 1985 was just $199.

Nintendo’s rival SEGA also appears on the list with multiple releases.

The 1995 SEGA Saturn and 1986 Master System sit in sixth and ninth place, respectively.

SEGA Saturn cost $399 in 1995 but would be a hefty $826.44 today, while the Master System cost $200 but would retail for $300 more in 2025 at $576.03

Other consoles to make the list include the first two editions of Sony’s PlayStation, with the second installment costing more today than it did when it was released in 2000.

It cost $299 24 years ago, but today, it would retail for $548.10, a $300 increase.

Corey Sims at CSDB.gg said, “It’s no surprise some of these iconic consoles are on the list, such as the PlayStation and SEGA Genesis. However, it is unbelievable how much some of them would cost today based on inflation.

“Given the high costs of consoles like the Neo Geo and 3DO Interactive Multiplayer today, it will be interesting to see how much modern systems like the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5 might cost in the future.”

Methodology:

The original prices of various consoles were found on https://www.inflationstation.net/

Calculator.net was then used to determine the inflation rate between a console release year and October 2024.

THE A1200 – Complete full-size Commodore Amiga 1200 plug and play – Pre-orders soon!

Retro Games Ltd, the maestros behind the plug-and-play THEC64 Mini and Maxi, The Spectrum, The 400 Mini, and more, are coming out with an improved full-sized variation of their popular THEA500 Mini. Known as THE A1200, pre-orders are expected to begin on November 10, 2025, with a launch date of June 16, 2026. The suggested retail price is £149.99 / €189.99 / $189.99 / AU$299.99.

For your money, you’ll get the Amiga 1200-shaped computer with full-size keyboard, authentic-style mouse, and gamepad. There are also 25 built-in games, including Beneath A Steel Sky, Settlers II, Lure of the Temptress, Ruff n Tumble, Defender of the Crown I & II, and the Turrican trilogy. Naturally, you can side-load your own games via one of the USB ports.

Modern conveniences include HDMI output and save states. It remains to be seen what other improvements there will be over THEA500 Mini, but Retro Games Ltd is promising that this will be their most powerful such device yet. It should be able to play all Amiga platform (OCS/ECS/AGA) games and software, including CDTV and CD32 content.

THE A1200 LogoTHE A1200 logo.

This is a welcome addition to the large Commodore Amiga ecosystem. As a fan from back in the day who still has plenty of original hardware and software, I can say it’s one of the harder platforms to maintain. A robust plug-and-play solution like this one should make it much easier for everyone interested to get into and enjoy.
