Go to the gym, or be lazy and watch some television or play video games. Whatever you decide, those moments will come back to you and you'll be able to finish the piece. If they don't, then it just wasn't a story meant to be told.(less)

Jay hated waiting.
What made it worse was that he stood in the bitter cold of Seattle’s sidewalks. Dark clouds shrouded the street in a dismal Read more of this blog post »

This will mark my first review of a book outside of the annual reviews that I've been doing. Those have been fun, but I believe that they don't fully encompass the heart and soul that many of these authors have poured into their work.

More of Michael's books…
Thucydides
“The bravest are surely those who have the clearest vision of what is before them, glory and danger alike, and yet notwithstanding, go out to meet it.”
Thucydides

Thucydides
“Right, as the world goes, is only in question between equals in power, while the strong do what they can and the weak suffer what they must.”
Thucydides, History of the Peloponnesian War

J.R.R. Tolkien
“I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.”
J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring

Arnold Schwarzenegger
“What is the point of being on this Earth if you are going to be like everyone else?”
Arnold Schwarzenegger, Total Recall: My Unbelievably True Life Story

Joseph Heller
“There was only one catch and that was Catch-22, which specified that a concern for one's safety in the face of dangers that were real and immediate was the process of a rational mind. Orr was crazy and could be grounded. All he had to do was ask; and as soon as he did, he would no longer be crazy and would have to fly more missions. Orr would be crazy to fly more missions and sane if he didn't, but if he was sane he had to fly them. If he flew them he was crazy and didn't have to; but if he didn't want to he was sane and had to. Yossarian was moved very deeply by the absolute simplicity of this clause of Catch-22 and let out a respectful whistle.

"That's some catch, that Catch-22," he observed.

"It's the best there is," Doc Daneeka agreed.”
Joseph Heller, Catch-22
