HAPPY THANKSGIVING AND OTHER STUFF
To all my U.S. readers and friends, I wish you a very happy Thanksgiving celebration filled with joy (and good food) with those you love…and not too many others you’d rather not sit next to.
ANTÔNIO has been released into the wild and I’m so excited to share his story. I want to thank everyone who purchased the book in its various formats, and especially those who took the time to leave stars on Amazon or elsewhere. Those stars really do make a difference and I appreciate every one of them. I’ve had questions from readers about the audio book, and while I don’t have a date yet, I do know it’s in the works.
I’m now hard at work on the next novella which will introduce a brand new vampire character who works for the FBI and specializes in serial killers. His books will be the next limited series, i.e., there’s a set number of books, like the Stone Warriors. And once that’s written, I’ll be starting the next VIA book which was teased in the ANTÔNIO epilogue. It will bring the stories back to North America and feature all the lieutenants you’ve met in the previous Vampires in America books. They’re some of my favorite characters and I’m thrilled to finally focus on how important they are to the security and defense of the vampire world.
After my July trip to Iceland, I immediately began thinking about what my next trip might be, and honestly, I decided the big trips will have to wait until 2024. It’s weird for me to even write those numbers as a real year. We lost a big chunk of time to the pandemic, didn’t we? But while I’m not planning any big trips in 2023, I will be doing two signing events, both in Texas. Book Bonanza in Grapevine, TX (June 23-24) is already sold out, but you can sign up for the re-sale list (i.e., people with tickets who will no longer be attending.) Book Bonanza Resale Tickets
I will also be at Book Lovers Con in Houston, TX June 1-4 2023. Tickets are now on sale for that one at Book Lover Readers’ Registration. It’s been a while since I’ve had a chance to meet readers and friends, and I’m so looking forward to it! I hope I’ll see some of you at one or both cons. These events are always fun, and Book Lovers in particular has lots of exciting reader events.
I’m going back to my vampire FBI guy…so much (bloody) fun. I hope you’re all enjoying the cooler weather and that those of you digging out of the recent snowstorms are staying safe and warm.

ANTONIO HAS ARRIVED!
ANTONIO’s story releases THIS Friday, November 11!
Yay! You can still pre-order it now, however, so it will hit your e-readers at midnight. No need to wait for sunshine…whatever that is.
I do hope you’ll give Antonio’s story a try. I know it’s been a long time coming, between the plague and my recent health issues, but Antonio’s a great character, and so is Rachel, his would-be-assassin turned lover/defender.

Most of Antonio’s story takes place in Porto, Portugal, a beautiful city that I was lucky enough to visit before the entire world went into lockdown. Ugh. But now, the world’s mostly unlocked, and so am I. First on my travel agenda was Iceland, a trip originally scheduled for 2020, delayed twice, and finally (finally!) completed in July 2022. And what a beautiful place, filled with amazing sights, and wonderful people. We had a great time, and finally crossed the Arctic Circle to pair with our 2018 crossing of the Antarctic Circle, which was the driving force behind our journey. My niece and I thought it would be cool to have crossed both polar circles and we finally did it! I’ll post some pix soon.
But now it’s back to work. I’m already deep into the next Raphael & Cyn e-novella, which means I’m once more a night-dweller. More or less. Eddie (my cat) never changes her routine regardless of what I’m doing. She’s still sleeping all day long. But my dog, Frou, a 14yo Shih Tzu rescued from a very bad situation at the end of May, is still trying to convince me and the cat to rise with the sun. Fortunately, Frou’s old enough that she’s happy to sleep any time or place, so we’re all working it out. Although right now, I’m sitting here trying to figure out if it’s 5am or 5pm! When are we going to dispense with these semi-annual time changes? We need to go back to one time and stick with it. And not daylight savings, either. Standard time is the only measure that’s compatible with the universe FFS!
All right. Be safe out there!

A QUICK NOTE: IT’S NOT VALENTINE’S DAY!! YIKES!!
My new site went live today, at least in terms of the programming wizard’s tasks. My task is now to update and clean up all the pages to fit into the new format. It took me a while to learn the new set-up, but I’m now slowly working my way through the pages. Most will be the same by the time I’m finished. lol
So, patience, please.
I should have everything re-set within the next two days or so, and then I’ll be back with my first fully new post, including a brief excerpt from ANTÔNIO, which is now finished and at my publisher’s. I expect to have a good idea of the final release date very soon.
But in the meantime, what do you think of the new header? In case you wondered, that’s sunset over the Pacific Ocean. It could have been taken from Raphael and Cyn’s cliffside…at least if I was taking it. (heh heh)
I’m sorry for the long silence over the last year, I’ve been dealing with some serious health issues that took all my energy and determination. But I’m back now thanks to UCLA Medical Center and its many fantastic physicians. I’m so glad to be out in the sunshine, or at least the shade, again. Not the heat, just the fresh air and freedom. I hope all of you are emerging healthy and ready to get our lives back.
