Currently working on a historical fiction trilogy set in the Spanish colonies in the fifteenth century, Andrea (Andy), the daughter of Irish immigrants, was born in Stockport in the north west of England.

Andy spent 24 years working in the British Civil Service, working her way up to a senior position before, in 2003, walking away from her fat salary, fast car and stilettos to move to a banana plantation at the foot of Spain's highest mountain on a sub-tropical island 500km off the west coast of Africa.
