For me, clearly the least interesting of the Thursday Murder books. The plot seemed to "fly away" in so many directions, it just lost me and I didn't care. The characters went with those strands and I ended up not caring about them either. Well, exce ...more

"Bog Queen is one of the reasons I go to Portland BookFest: to discover new authors and books I might not otherwise come across. Granted, this beautiful cover would likely have caught my eye in a bookstore, but hearing Anna North speak on a panel clin" Read more of this review »

I had a hard time remembering this work is a memoir as it read as easily as fiction. When I wasn't actively reading it, I was thinking about the "characters" and anxious to get back to them. I was invested in their lives and loves and tribulations.

The characters were surprisingly flat and the main character annoying. I didn't believe any of them.

I enjoyed this book and its characters, but the ending was so rushed (and too perfect) for me to really enjoy it. I like books with a bit of real life in them.

The audition was just too much.
