I have worked in journalism and marketing for decades. In that time, I have come to realise, much as George Orwell did, that we live inside of a propaganda system. Not everything is untrue, but our somewhat simplistic notions of reality are exploited by the powerful. That's what motivates my writing which is inspired by Orwell, Richard Wright, Kurt Vonnegut and Albert Camus. Politically charged dystopian writing is much harder to publish even though I believe there are a lot of people who want to read it. Literary agents don't care or understand in my opinion. Please support me and other authors who are trying to tell stories and raise our collective understanding of the threats we face.
