It was exciting to release the book into the international market – would much of the meaning be lost in translation, and were there cultural barriers to understanding what is conveyed between the lines? My professional British editor and proofreader assured me that the book elicited the same reactions from him as it did from my Norwegian readers, as did a couple of British friends who volunteered
