The Flagpole Sitter

It’s acid and it’s rain
but it’s not acid rain.
That yellow essence misting
our faces and hair
is the cloud sitter
unzipped, insisting
he’s still there now that we don’t remember
why — or care.

Interesting moment,
when the 10% that pays the 100%
begins to emigrate,
the last Honorary Doctorate
