Quick and Quirky Stories and Photos (2024), Lorin Lee Cary’s latest book, links his interest in flash fiction with his love of photography.

Read Quick and Quirky Stories and Photos and laugh out loud. It’s an absurd world, and humor is at hand in this collection of flash fiction short stories. These fast reads introduce some unique characters, including a superhero with a flatulence issue and a man diagnosed as “bland.” The photos provoke laughs as well. Flash Fiction

I'm having great fun with flash fiction, pieces of under 1000 words. Crafting a story arc in that space is challenging; sometimes I end up with just a vignette of a character. And that's okay. The bottom line is that's it's fun. Often I start out with a sentence I've overheard. "I got a job selling meat," led me into a tale about a hit man who said that because he didn't like other labels for his Read more of this blog post »

Lorin Barber Lorin, thanks for adding me as a friend. I'm a wanna be author and only know of 1 friend on Goodreads. My book "The Secret Life of Copernicus H. Stringfellow" will be out in March. In an attempt at Crass Commercialism I joined Goodreads. I hoped that other people named Lorin might be OK with making friends.
Thanks

Lorin Cary Thanks, Rosemary. I had fun with Custer and suspect that some serious Custer fans may not like it, as will some who don't cherish his memory. Have you seen the tweets among Lakota commenting on McDonald's action figure of Custer in Happy Meals. "Once again Custer has invaded the Black Hills."

Rosemary Thanks so much for befriending me. Your work looks fascinating!
