I work as a medical doctor. I am a wife, and mother of adult triplet children, 3 dogs, a cat, and several chickens. From the looks of my social media and "outward appearances", it would be difficult to know that most of my life, I lived as a secret sex and food addict. My life was plagued with shame, guilt, sadness, anger, regret, lack of self-control, and the vicious cycle of craving, acting out, experiencing consequences, and being unable to stop. My marriage and my physical and mental health suffered. I was finally able to overcome my addictions with therapy, self-reflection, and a lot of mindset work.
