Tasha Turner is not the illegitimate daughter of any satmar rav from whom she did not acquire her knowledge of satmar. Neither is she the Renfield of any conventional vampire. She is not an acolyte of Lilith who created the Jewish vampires.

Ok seriously now:
I'm mostly a reader, reading over 200 books a year. I'm an occasional blogger. I also do life coaching, social media coaching, Kickstarter mentoring, and dabble in fiction.

My taste in reading is eclectic, romance, sci fi, fantasy, mystery, suspense, YA, paranormal, urban fantasy. Prefer to stay away from graphic sex, violence, and language but find my tastes expanding. Really dislike books where women are attracted to/fall for men who are using them, sexually abusing them, raping them.

She shared an idea her mother had. I added some of my thoughts. She suggested I write it. From that discussion the idea for a series on Jewish vampires based on both Jewish Halacha (law) and bits and pieces I've found about mystical creatures which might be Jewish vampires was born. You can find more about this on my website.(less)

“Social networking is about building people up in your network NOT tearing them down”
Tasha Turner

“The more passionate and argumentative I get the more followers and friends I make online.”
Tasha Turner

“No book is ever perfect
No piece of art is ever perfect
No meal I cook is ever perfect
But at some point we have to eat...”
Tasha Turner

“Sometimes girls, especially those whose tastes aren't routine, don't get a fair break. Too many of us have been bred to timidity. That is why those who escape must run, not stroll, toward what they desire. They mustn't look back. They mustn't question their own instincts. And they mustn't listen to the naysayers. If they can only follow their own true course, well then, they will be as renowned for their bravery as the greatest men are.”
Chandra Prasad

“I want to do it because I want to do it. Women must try to do things as men have tried. When they fail, their failure must be but a challenge to others.”
Amelia Earhart

“Dogs get after big living. They seem illiterate of worry, yet able to read joys that elude us. They quietly shout to us: Wag your backside to music instead of your tongue to malice.”
Michael Cogdill

“The best moments in reading are when you come across something – a thought, a feeling, a way of looking at things – which you had thought special and particular to you. Now here it is, set down by someone else, a person you have never met, someone even who is long dead. And it is as if a hand has come out and taken yours.”
Alan Bennett, The History Boys

“It was rumored she held grudges till they died of old age, then had them stuffed and mounted.”
David Weber, Field of Dishonor

Part of a group challenge. All my challenges are from groups. I think 80%+ come from the same group Paranormal Addicts & Newbies - Paranormal Romance & Urban Fantasy which always has challenges going on as well as good discussions although I don't stop by as frequently as I should.

I am part of another group that is doing the "new to me author" challenge also. They are aiming for 100. According to the widget I'm at 65 for the year.

Glad to hear you've been enjoying my reviews.

Donna Cook Hi Tasha, I've been following and enjoying your reviews for a while now. I noticed you have a shelf labeled "2013 new to me author challenge." Is this as part of a larger group challenge or are you doing this on your own? Just curious and had to ask. ;)

Tasha Turner I'm way behind on typing up reviews I have close to 30 books to take my notes and turn them into GR reviews... Ouch I need to do better at staying on top of them. I've read some good books and some not so good but nothing really bad.

message 5: by Tasha

Tasha Turner After weeks or even over a month all my library books on hold came in. That's about 15 books to read and review not including other books I've committed to review. Wheee time to really hide in the bedroom and read. Who is making sure I eat and drink enough water?

Thanks I had fun creating them and finally remembered to copy them over here from my blog. I guess I won't be putting a warning "no coffee harmed while creating these quotes"...
