We all have a unique story or message to share and your specific perspective and way of writing are beautifully unique. It can be easy to scrutinize every word, doubt your abilities, or become ensnared in formatting intricacies. What the literary world needs, however, are authentic voices from individuals unabashedly confident in committing their thoughts in writing before permitting external forces to mold or reshape them. You will know what you wish to share and how you desire to do so once you sit down and begin. Don't let your own timelines, expectations, or fear get in the way. Embrace the liberating journey of self-expression and know that it is enough, no matter how many copies you sell or how many people read your work.(less)

While some ended painfully, others eventually began to improve over time after counseling and applying the principles contained within both the Bible and this book. I learned that I had to start changing myself, and my mindset, to have truly fulfilling relationships. After years of trial and error and seeing immense growth and positive outcomes in my own life, I found myself offering up similar advice to those I encountered. Almost every conversation I had with others in which they were unhappy or in conflict kept coming back to this theme of unmet/unspoken expectations.

After speaking with others about this topic time and time again, I realized this was something that many people could benefit from. I even had a close friend suggest I write a book on the topic after hearing me offer up similar advice on more than one occasion. So, after both seeing a deep need and receiving what I felt to be confirmation from God, I determined to put it all down in writing. It’s been an incredibly cool experience to hear from readers about how the exercises in the book, birthed from my failures and hard lessons, have helped them enrich their relationships and offer more grace within them.(less)

“When you remove our own selfish lenses which constantly decipher the statements and actions of others in terms of what it means about us, we can then see and hear these same things in a truer form, one which is much less threatening to our own individuality.”
