Out Front the Following Sea reviewed at The Literary Assistant

Out Front the Following Sea was reviewed on January 5, 2022, at The Literary Assistant.

https://www.theliteraryassistant.com/...

“Soulful and hauntingly beautiful. This isn’t a story, it’s a journey. If you enjoy a story that doesn’t follow a cookie-cutter path to perfection, you NEED to read this book. … I found myself falling head first into the adventure that was unfolding on each page. I’m looking forward to reading more books from Leah Angstman.”

Out Front the Following Sea reviewed in Quail Bell Magazine

Out Front the Following Sea was reviewed by Alex Carrigan on Quail Bell Magazine.

“… [A]bsolutely fascinating. … Out Front the Following Sea is like a lighthouse on the coastline: meticulously built and designed, but also illuminates so much to carefully draw the reader in. Angstman’s research and prose makes Ruth’s story one that stands out for its vividness and relatability, and the plot is exciting enough that the reader will surely want to see the next course set. By drawing from the history of New England-set historical fiction, Out Front the Following Sea elevates and reignites the passion for these kinds of stories, and will hopefully inspire others to set sail into these uncharted waters.”

Updated Medium profile + a new Nerdy & Random Bookshelf

Medium has some new features these days, so I was able to give my Medium profile a facelift, match some colors to my website and preferences, and put my Medium posts in one pretty place. I moved all my Nerdy & Random Bookshelf posts over, and this week I’ll move my Travelurgy posts over, so they’re also in one place. Check out the profile HERE if you haven’t yet, and follow me if you’re on Medium.

Up at The Coil today I have a new Nerdy & Random Bookshelf column HERE (free-access link) where I talk about Samuel T. Coleridge’s The Rime of the Ancient Mariner and Other Poems, Ruben Quesada’s Revelations, Paul Crenshaw’s In Stone, and on deck: Jacqueline Doyle’s The Missing Girl. Use the hashtags #NerdyRandom and #CoilMag on social media and tag @CoilMag if you’re reposting on Twitter. If you like the column and you’re a Medium member, please give it a couple claps!

Books Mentioned:
The Rime of the Ancient Mariner and Other Poems
Revelations
In Stone
The Missing Girl
