Shift Your Focus for a Positive and Purposeful February (Affirmations to Print)

As February arrives, we move deeper into the year, filled with opportunities, growth, and love. While the world may present its challenges and unsettling news, it’s important to remember that time continues moving forward. Our dreams, aspirations, well-being, and communities deserve our attention now more than ever.

Many of us are focused on building a successful business, attracting love, and nurturing a happy, healthy family. These goals are not just desires; they are essential to living a fulfilling life. February, often known as the month of love, is the perfect time to redirect our focus toward what truly nourishes our hearts and minds.

Shift Your Focus for a Positive February

Staying informed is important, but constant exposure to negative news can drain our energy and create unnecessary stress. I recommend protecting your thoughts and energy by finding a trustworthy, valid news source and checking it only once a day or every few days. This small change can help you stay informed without becoming overwhelmed, ensuring your mental and emotional well-being remains a priority.

If you find yourself feeling down or dwelling on news and social media, consider shifting your focus and dedicating time to a cause that truly needs your attention. Whether it’s a local charity, shelter, or community initiative, there are many ways to make a real difference.

This year, I’m supporting the 2025 Pittsburgh Walk to End Alzheimer’s, which funds research and support for those affected by this disease. I also continue to support Hello, Neighbor, an organization providing critical resources to refugee and immigrant families, and The Girl Scouts, an organization that empowers young girls to grow into confident, capable leaders. What are your favorite charities, projects, and causes? Pull out your journal now and make a list of ways you can contribute. Then, get busy making that difference!

Affirmations for February: Love & Light

Here are affirmations to guide and uplift you throughout this month. Let them serve as a reminder of your power, worth, and ability to create a life filled with love and success.

Download or print these affirmations and put them on your dresser, planner, phone, or desktop to stay focused and positive throughout the month.

Why focus on affirmations?

Affirmations are one way to keep you feeling positive and focused on your intentions for the future. This helps when you are stuck in a cycle of obsession and worry. They help you to believe in yourself, feel strong, confident, and SUCCEED.

When women are strong, confident, and secure, their families are strong, confident, and secure. When women are successful in business, they can achieve financial stability, positively impacting not only their lives but also their communities. Women with financial strength change the world, uplifting those around them and creating lasting impact.

This February, choose to focus on what empowers you. Love yourself, embrace abundance, and take steps toward the life you deserve. I believe in you.

Wishing you a month filled with love, light, and limitless possibilities!

Permission to Pause: Simple To-Do’s for a Joyful New Year

Non-Business Things to Add to Your To-Do List

The holiday season can be a tough time, and as we step into a new year, I want to offer an alternative to the typical resolutions and year-end reviews. If you’ve been feeling blue or overwhelmed, here are some simple, non-business things to consider adding to your to-do list. These have helped me feel more connected, grounded, and content—perhaps they’ll help you too.

1. Prioritize Sleep

Sleep isn’t just rest; it’s restoration. For me, going to bed earlier, keeping my phone out of the bedroom, and using blackout curtains has made all the difference. I wake up with more energy and focus than ever before. Prioritizing quality sleep can transform your mood, energy levels, and overall well-being. Make it a habit to honor your bedtime—it’s a gift to yourself.

2. Get Fresh Air

A wise friend of mine, Yvonne, an environmentalist, recently reminded me, “Every day is a good day to be outside.” She’s so right. Whether it’s a short walk, a few deep breaths on your porch, or a hike in the woods, spending time outdoors never fails to lift my spirits.

3. Limit Social Media and Screen Time

I’ve noticed a clear pattern: being outside makes me happier, while too much social media drags me down. If you’ve been feeling the same, try replacing screen time with activities that feed your soul—like being in nature, reading, or connecting with friends.

4. Host Informal Gatherings

Time with friends doesn’t happen unless it’s planned, and I’ve learned that perfection isn’t required to open your home. Recently, I’ve started hosting casual gatherings with friends and neighbors. I’ve let go of worrying about the state of my house—no one has noticed the dust, clutter, or mismatched dishware. What they notice is the joy of being together. It’s informal, unstructured, and deeply fulfilling. I wish I had done this sooner!

5. Join or Start a Book Club

When I moved to a new neighborhood, joining a book club was an easy way to meet people who shared my love of reading. It’s more than just discussing books—it’s about building community and friendships. If there isn’t one near you, why not start your own?

6. Volunteer in Your Community

If you’ve felt lonely or unmotivated, volunteering is a powerful way to connect with others and give back. Start small—just one Saturday morning a month can make a difference. Choose a cause that resonates with you, whether it’s family advocacy, animal welfare, environmental efforts, or something else. A quick online search will help you find opportunities near you.

These affirmations will help remind you of the tips above so you can easily integrate them.

I hope these ideas inspire you to add a little joy and connection to your life this year. Remember, it’s the small, intentional choices that make the biggest difference. I'm a big fan of positivity and intentional living. And, since it's the beginning of the month, I've created some affirmations for you to download and save. -Beth

Take the “NO” Out of November: Ten Ways to Say YES to Yourself and Others This Month

November is here, and with it comes the perfect opportunity to take the “NO” out of our lives and embrace the power of YES. While learning to say no is essential for setting boundaries (something I just covered in a recent masterclass!), saying YES can be equally transformative. This month, I’m challenging you to say YES to the things that bring joy, connection, and peace. Here are ten ways you can start saying YES to yourself and others this November. ⬇︎⬇︎⬇︎

Say YES to Help

This month, consider ways to lighten your load: maybe that means delegating tasks at work, hiring an assistant, or bringing someone in to help with errands, cleaning, or cooking. Recently, after a whirlwind of travel and conferences, my neighbor offered to bring me dinner. At first, I said, “No, thank you,” but when she gently insisted, I thought, why not say YES?  That meal, prepared with kindness, was exactly what I needed. Accepting help allows us to recharge and creates space for more YES moments in our lives.

Say YES to Rest

In a culture that values productivity, choosing rest can feel like rebellion. But rest is a gift we can give ourselves. So, let yourself take that nap, sleep in an extra hour, or enjoy a guilt-free afternoon of doing absolutely nothing.

Say YES to Fun

When was the last time you joined a friend for something purely fun? This month, say YES to a concert, a show, or another event that’s just for you, with no hidden work agenda. Sometimes, pure fun is the best fuel for our spirit.

Say YES to Your Own Voice

We often silence our own wants to accommodate others. This month, practice saying YES to what you really want. Whether it’s a small preference or a big decision, let your own voice be heard.

Say YES to Your Health

With the holiday rush, health can fall to the bottom of our list. Saying YES to health doesn’t need to be complicated—try a 10-minute daily stretch, drink more water, or choose a nutritious meal. Every small step towards health is a YES to a stronger, happier you.

Say YES to New Experiences

Saying YES to trying something new can open doors to unexpected joy. Consider trying a new recipe, hobby, or even a book genre you wouldn’t normally read. Stepping out of your routine is a YES to curiosity and growth.

Say YES to Self-Compassion

We can be our own harshest critics. This month, say YES to being kind to yourself. Give yourself permission to make mistakes, to rest, to change your mind. The more compassion we extend to ourselves, the more we can extend it to others.

Say YES to Connecting with Loved Ones

Take time to reach out to friends or family members. This could be as simple as a text or a long-overdue phone call. Saying YES to connection can remind us of the warmth and support we have in our lives.

Say YES to Saying NO

Saying YES to yourself sometimes means saying NO to others. Embrace this truth and remind yourself that every NO frees you up for a future YES that aligns better with your goals, energy, or joy.

Say YES to Gratitude

November is an ideal time to practice gratitude. Start each day with a few minutes of reflection on what you’re thankful for, or write down one thing that brought you joy each evening. A YES to gratitude is a YES to a fuller, happier heart.

Give the Gift of YES

The practice of saying YES to ourselves and our lives can be transformative, and it’s one I’ve documented beautifully in The YES Journal.  Consider gifting yourself—or someone you care about—a journal dedicated to capturing moments of joy, connection, and growth. It’s a gentle reminder to embrace the YES within our lives.

As we head into the holiday season, I hope you find opportunities to say YES in ways that uplift and nourish you. Here’s to a November full of warmth, connection, and joyful YES moments.

Delegation: Never Easy for Women But Definitely Worth Trying

Today I have a simple but not-so-easy tip for you on how #shift into being a better delegator and a better leader.

One of my favorite books of all time is called Instant Karma. I keep it on my desk and it's my favorite go-to whenever I have a few moments. I've found books like this to be far more fulfilling than scrolling on social media.

Recently, I came across a tip on page 287 that made me smile. It said, "Resist telling people how something should be done."

As a high-achiever, it's easy to tell people how to get things done, and sometimes it's even easier and faster to just do it for them.

But as an influential and wise leader, you know that it's important to let them do the work. Sometimes they need to ask for guidance, and other times they surprise us by finding better and faster ways to get things done.

This week, when you find yourself wanting to take over, try this instead:

"What do you think we could do here?"

Give them the opportunity to solve the problem without taking over. See what happens. They may surprise you.

See more examples in this video replay ⬇︎ ⬇︎ ⬇︎

(this episode was one of the most popular from the

Monday Morning Mastermind series that ran from 2019-2023)

Will you give delegation a try this week?

Let me know how this strategy works for you!

UPCOMING EVENTS:

Want some of your own personal #VitaminBeth each week?

If you're a woman with a business ready to boost productivity, implement effective systems, and attract enough clients to fill your practice without sacrificing family time, you may want to join Success Circle for Women. We meet virtually on Mondays, and honestly, it's my absolute favorite program that I've ever created.
