New Article: Serial Storytelling: Is It Worth It?

I've got a lot going, including a new book coming out this year. For now, here's an article I wrote that's over on Medium about serializing your work: Serial Storytelling: Is It Worth It?

I've got some other articles coming out soon and some short fiction links to share. Feel free to send me a group request if you have one. Gonna try to be active over here on Goodreads!

Writing horror novella: THE DEADING

Sometimes it's slow going. Other times, the words flow.

I've been working on a novella coming out this year from Crone Girls Press. THE DEADING. The story came to me after a year in the field studying birds and other creatures in habitats on the central California Coast. One particular swamp comes to mind: Pecho Road Willows...

Anyway, I'm about half finished. Need to hustle through the rest. Need to make this psychological horror as creepy as I can, finding inspiration in everything from Elena Ferrante to Stephen King.

Wishing you all well.

A Field Guide to Zen Outlining

I have a new article up in The Writing Cooperative: A Field Guide to Zen Outlining: How creating story blueprints can save your soul. I interviewed Prairie Schooner's managing editor Ashley Strosnider, writer Richie Narvaez and writer Danielle Trussoni for their tips. Also added tips of my own, and discuss outlining for yourself, ghostwriting, and more. Happy Tuesday!
