“There's wickedness, dark as night. There are things that are wicked and if you touch them, they know you. They know where to find you now. - Knock Knock”
S.P. Miskowski

“Artists are nothing but expert time killers, filling up the hours by entertaining themselves. But the ones who think they're changing the universe are truly delusional. Writers who believe communication makes a difference are the most delusional of all. Every day people find better, faster ways to communicate and guess what? The same percentage of humanity remains ignorant and hateful. We still torture and murder for profit. We still rape and steal, and we step gingerly over people who are starving to death so we won't get any of their shit on our shoes on our way to the espresso stand.”
S.P. Miskowski, I Wish I Was Like You

“This is the nature of temptation, you see. If it didn’t come in the exact form we desire, we would never consider it. All it takes to indulge in what we want is to turn a blind eye now and then.”
S.P. Miskowski, Delphine Dodd

“If, after spending time with a person, you feel as though you've lost a quart of plasma, avoid that person in the future.”
William S. Burroughs

“I just can't get with this idea that literature is a 12-step program. If someone wants to read a book to see good people get rewarded and the bad people get punished, essentially what they want is a fairy tale.”
China Miéville

“Just because you can read, write and do a little math, doesn't mean that you're entitled to conquer the universe.”
Kurt Vonnegut, Hocus Pocus

“There's wickedness, dark as night. There are things that are wicked and if you touch them, they know you. They know where to find you now. - Knock Knock”
S.P. Miskowski

“Irony sucks, you know?"
Roger nodded. "That it does. Safely confined to the pages of novels, it's an interesting rhetorical device; encountered loose in the real world, it's a beast with steel claws and mirrors for eyes.”
John Langan
