"What a sweet little book. A potpourri of interesting characters, held together by a grumpy old midwife on an equally old and ill-natured horse. Life, love, and tragedy on the North Dakota prairies in the 1880s, presented in great historical detail. A"

"Another winner of historical fiction by Candace Simar! In Montana Matrimonial News, Simar puts us smack in the middle of pioneer life. This book is a collection of stories of people surviving life in the Dakota territory in the mid to late 1800’s. No"

"In the pages of MONTANA MATRIMONIAL NEWS, characters vary from siblings who are nothing alike each other, to sourpuss citizens of Nickelbo, to innocent children, and some not so innocent or even able. Simar spins personalities that whet the attention"

On Friday November 7th, my new book launched into the world. Thank you to everyone who came to the Brainerd Library to help celebrate MONTANA MATRIMONIAL NEWS. The reviews are already trickling in. One person said it is my best book yet. Another described it was a “fun read” that kept her laughing. The Kirkus Review compared it to John Steinbeck’s CANNERY ROW. Please let me know your thoughts.

Great! same here. nothing like a good book!
