“Ellie Adventure Picking out Puppies” was written after Colleen Dougherty's youngest son asked her to write a book about puppies. They had just added two puppies to the family so material for the book was literally running around her feet! Colleen put her current writing project aside and got to work on the Ellie Adventure series. The title character is named after her maternal grandmother and some of the lines delivered by Ellie Adventure came straight from things her sons have said.
