There is one, but I'm not sure I am the one to write it. There is currently a corruption of knowledge and understanding which has become an epidemic in the US, and has affected other countries with dire consequences as well. We have reached the point where we no longer believe the NEWS, and do not have the ability to turn away.

That is an oversimplification of felonious measures - but you have to start somewhere.

This corruption degrades everyone and everything. It is malfeasance. We acknowledge it, we will admit that we understand that it is there, but we name it a graft. A fraud, yes, if you must push. But not a thing that is truly actionable on its own. To accuse someone of it and arrest them, would be 'over reaction'. It would be like giving someone a speeding ticket for going two mph faster than the limit.

But we do not understand it, and it is this manifestation which is the actual threat to our society and political system.

As I write this, I can imagine that the one who pushed us past the tipping point might, by history, be blamed for the coming ramifications, but I don't believe that stopping him will have any effect at this time.

We want to yell Trump, and we do, but this has been a serious issue since 2012, long before his ability to push came to power. It is what brought him to power, and it is what sustains his power base, but it is not him. Others are infected and once infected they gain in power, and so they appear compelling.

Which causes others to take note, and while it is not a moral stance or ethical it is self-justifying. So others reflect and aspire and become.

Removing them perpetuates the vacuum, which sucked them into the fray.
How to inoculate the population from misinformation?

That’s the mystery. How to warn of a harm which normalizes itself, by referring to itself.

This is not about the pandemic. It has certainly caused hundreds of thousands of unnecessary deaths, but the threat is the misinformation itself -- or rather, the misinformation is the body of the thing we can see. We can track that, we can observe it as it devours and hunts. But it is not one story or one subject or a Party, or a Covid. It is an energy, a geist.

Not a virial message, but rather a virus in a message, which propagates through messaging.
