New release, MISSED, free this weekend on Amazon
Happy New Year! In honor of the new year, my latest release, MISSED, will be free this weekend (1/5/13 and 1/6/13) on www.amazon.com.
Here's the blurb for MISSED:
After personal tragedy strikes, American mystery author Clare Towlson hops the first plane available, hoping to escape her painful memories. Landing in England, she joins her seatmates’ pilgrimage to tour Agatha Christie’s holiday home in Devon. There Clare takes an accidental tumble down the stairs, loses consciousness, and awakens to a broken rib, a head injury, and an encounter with what appears to be the specter of the great Dame herself. Shaken, Clare rushes back to the safety of familiar territory, but she’s pursued by her unsettling new ghostly companion. Worse, Clare lands in the middle of a real murder investigation, one in which she’s a viable suspect and in need of spiritual help to find the real killer and avoid revisiting the traumas of her past.
From Lisa Bork, author of Counting on You, Discovering Nowhere, and the Broken Vows Mystery Series: For Better, For Murder (a 2009 Agatha Award Finalist for Best First Novel), For Richer, For Danger, In Sickness and In Death, and To Love and To Perish.
I hope all the Kindle readers will download it. If you enjoy it, please let me know here on Goodreads as well as on Amazon. Thanks so much!
Best wishes for a happy and healthy 2013, Lisa

Julia’s real mission is to meet her half-brother and ask him to be tested as a potential donor before kidney disease claims her life. But she stumbles on a dead body the morning of the launch, makes the wrong choice, and ends up discredited when she later tries to alibi her half-brother, who’s under arrest for murder. Now Julia must sort through the Islands’ bad blood with the U.S. military, unravel the tall tales everyone else is telling, find the missing ashes of her birthfather and a famous starlet, and identify the real killer before her time runs out.

New Book Release - Discovering Nowhere
My latest book, Discovering Nowhere, is now available through Amazon Kindle eBooks.
Building a new life after loss shouldn’t hinge on keeping the dead’s secrets…
Forty-year-old Moira Jeffers has lost her husband, her happiness, and her financial security and now has to surrender her beloved stepson to his mother, a national news reporter with little time for him. It feels like more bad news when Moira learns she has inherited her in-laws’ house in a Midwestern town she’d always thought of as Nowhere, U.S.A.
A visit to Nowhere turns intriguing when she sees the work of an unknown caricature artist who creates a storefront mural, meets a woman who dates a different man every night, and hears of a neighbor who never leaves her house. Moira's interest turns to concern when she realizes the shut-in's son bears a disturbing resemblance to the man she had loved and trusted. Learning of his secret visits to the town adds to her suspicion and fear.
With the help of a boy, a dog, a friendly neighbor, and a handsome new acquaintance, Moira begins to see Nowhere in a new light. When her husband's first wife arrives there, determined to expose the town's secrets in a national news story, Moira has to confront newfound feelings for a place she never expected to call home.
The Kindle edition is enabled for lending.
I hope you will check out Discovering Nowhere and let me know what you think of this story.
Thanks, Lisa

IN SICKNESS AND IN DEATH Released Today
I'm excited to announce that In Sickness and in Death, book three in the Broken Vows mystery series, is now available.
Here's the storyline:
When her sheriff’s deputy husband, Ray, brings home a shaggy haired and sulky twelve-year-old boy and introduces him as their new foster child, Finger Lakes sports car dealer Jolene Parker doesn’t know what to think. The impulsive son of a jailed car thief, Danny is a handful whose main talents include picking locks and hotwiring cars.
After Danny takes a brief joyride in a car that he claims belongs to his dad, Jolene and Ray discover a horrible surprise in the trunk: a woman’s severed arm. While Ray hunts down the victim’s identity, Jolene races to find out whether Danny’s father did the foul deed, driving her straight into the twisted killer’s sights.
I have posted a giveaway for ten copies of In Sickness and in Death on Goodreads that should appear within the next 48 hours, pending approval. But I wanted to tell you something special.
