Quitting my blog...for now

Dear readers (if there are any faithful followers left!),
It is no surprise to you that I have not posted in over a year.

Blogging as an aspiring author is hard. It's not like I can post about events that I'm doing or promote my work. I review books on Goodreads, but I'm not rubbing elbows with a ton of published authors. I don't have new advice that can't be found on Google. Half the time, I

Contest opportunity!

So, I know it's been awhile *ahem* since I posted, but I'm determined to get the ball rolling.

Due end of the day (EOD) PST, there is a contest for YA submissions! 150-250 words of your unpublished novel. :)

Dear Lucky Agent

Good luck!

TGIF & Community

Hey, everyone. Community is BACK!
I followed this quirky show for it's surprisingly long run, and even unknowingly, coincidentally boycotted Season 4 (when NBC fired creator Dan Harmon).

Season 6 is set to air on Yahoo on March 17. Kinda exciting.

:) Happy Friday!

TGIF & Creativity Goals for 2015

Cross Blog Post on 5 Scribes, my writer's group blog, about Creativity Goals for 2015:

I am late to post this week (supposed have been done on Monday). What do you think that says about the start to my 2015? Slow going? Off-target? Not quite on top of things as I thought I would be?
Do I even post on my own blog anymore? Seems like I am too preoccupied with craziness to do that.

I will work on

TGIF & Arbonne

(source)
Well, friends, it's the last post of the year. And my last post of the month on 5 Scribes, my writers' group blog.

It's been a crazy busy last two months. That "new direction" that I alluded to in my last post, I started a home business with Arbonne. And it has been occupying my whole brain, so much so that I have forgotten SO many things...my son's doctor's appointment, my regularly

TGIF & Changes

(source)

I've been mulling "change" for the last month...and especially in this last week.

I took a step toward a new career direction (adding to my full time job), and I'm scared, but excited...unsure whether this is the right thing for me and my family. It takes a lot more of my time--see lack of regularly scheduled blog posts--and a lot more dedication. So, we will see where this

TGIF & 5 Scribes blog post

(source)

Firstly, I apologize for being gone the last two weeks. My life got a little hectic. I signed up to be an Arbonne consultant (!) and I got sick (you know how that can take you out of routine for a bit).

Anyway, I'm back! I posted over at my critique group's 5 scribes blog about why I write from a Christian perspective...or maybe why I don't...

I struggled with this post for

TGIF & Best Fiends

(source)

I read Entertainment Weekly's Top 10 list all the time. I don't always buy into what they deem as Top 10 worthy, but this time, they hit a winner! Best Fiends is a new app game that was created by the team who made Candy Crush.

The graphics are fun. The concept is very addicting!

Beat the slugs!

Reach the level goals.

Advance!

I'm obsessed. I know my obsession will only

TGIF & Mulling through Something Grumpy

(source)

I have the case of the Grumps.

It has to do with the Phoenix Rattler Contest.

I prepared a long post about "why I'm grumpy", but I think I am too emotional at the moment. So, I'm going to put it off for later.

Just pray for me.
That this, too, shall pass.

Thanks.

ACFW First Impressions Contest

(source)

New contest info!

The Arizona Christian Fiction Writers (ACFW) is holding their annual First Impressions Contest. This is a great opportunity for those of you with unfinished manuscripts because they only require the first 5 pages (and a 200-word blurb...like a back-cover blurb). But you get great feedback. At least I hope!

Due October 15, 2014 (in less than a week!).

Good luck!
