Why do blessings wear disguises?
I wrote this awhile ago, but I needed it today. Hope it can bless someone else.
I know we've all heard the term, it's a blessing in disguise when a not so pleasant situation occurs in our lives.
Have you ever asked yourself, why do blessings wear disguises? Why don't blessings come right out dressed as themselves where everyone can clearly see them for who they are? Why is it that they are always hiding from us?
The truth is the blessing is not in disguise but we are looking through faulty glasses. Our human nature allows us to only see things from our perspective. Our human mind will not allow us to see things from God's mind or God's eye view. So when things are not going absolutely wonderful in our lives, we fail to see the blessing. If someone points it out to us, we mistakenly think the blessing is disguised.
We've all experienced hardships and heartaches in our lives. None of us has lived in a Utopia, yet we all are abundantly and richly blessed. Our blessings were not wearing disguises when they arrived. We just failed to look at them correctly.
So whatever is going on in your life right now whether you are happier than you've ever been or you are so far down you can't even see up anymore remember it's a blessing.
God is going to take this situation, no matter what it is and he will bless you, because of it. As long as you put him first and continue to seek his face. It may not be the blessing you prayed for but it will be a blessing in your life.
For those who are not particularly religious I offer you the example of The Butterfly Effect. Whatever happens in your life is directly related to and the result of something else.
And because he is the head of my life I must add that if we do like Ashton Kutcher's character and try to fix it, we will find that we can never really make it right. That is God's job. Allow him the opportunity to move in and through your life and your blessings will suddenly remove all of their disguises.
Be Blessed
