Is Christ God? 1of12

 ~ David Called Jesus Christ God! ~

Scripture  ~  “While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them, saying, ‘What do you think about the Christ?  Whose Son is He?’  They said to Him, ‘The Son of David.’  He said to them, ‘How then does David in the Spirit call Him “Lord,” saying: The Lord said to my Lord, ‘Sit at My right hand, till I make Your enemies Your footstool’?”  If David then calls Him “Lord,” how is He his Son?’  And no one was able to answer Him a word, nor from that day on did anyone dare question Him anymore” (Matthew 22:41-46).

Bible Answer, 91

 ~ Did You Get It Right? ~

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~ bible answer ~~~~

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
question:  Who ate a little book and got indigestion?
answer:  John ~ Revelation 10:10
“Then the voice which I heard from heaven spoke to me again and said, ‘Go, take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel who stands on the sea and on the earth.’  So I went to the angel and said to him, ‘Give me the little book.’  And he said to me, ‘Take and eat it; and it will make your stomach bitter, but it will be as sweet as honey in your mouth.’  Then I took the little book out of the angel’s hand and ate it, and it was as sweet as honey in my mouth.  But when I had eaten it, my stomach became bitter.  And he said to me, ‘You must prophesy again about many peoples, nations, tongues, and kings’” (Revelation 10:8-11).
Sabbath, 8of9
 ~ The Disciples Worshipped God On The First Day Of The Week ~
Introduction  ~  In the Old Testament the Sabbath was established as part of The Law.  The Sabbath is observed from sundown Friday evening through sundown Saturday evening.  In the New Testament the law of God is written on believers’ hearts (Romans 2:12-16) rather than on tablets of stone.  It is the heart’s attitude which now supersedes outward obedience (Romans 10:10).  Following Christ’s resurrection, which occurred on the first day of the week, the Disciples and later the Church have observed their day of rest on Sunday in remembrance of Christ’s resurrection (Acts 20:7).
Passage  ~  “Now on the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul, ready to depart the next day, spoke to them and continued his message until midnight.  There were many lamps in the upper room where they were gathered together.  And in a window sat a certain young man named Eutychus, who was sinking into a deep sleep.  He was overcome by sleep; and as Paul continued speaking, he fell down from the third story and was taken up dead.  But Paul went down, fell on him, and embracing him said, ‘Do not trouble yourselves, for his life is in him.’  Now when he had come up, had broken bread and eaten, and talked a long while, even till daybreak, he departed.  And they brought the young man in alive, and they were not a little comforted” (Acts 20:7-12).
Comment  ~  The Disciples maintained the concept of a weekly day set apart to contemplate God.  In honor of the resurrection of Jesus Christ on the first day of the week they chose to honor God on Sunday to focus on God as in the past but even more importantly the finished work of redemption by the Son of God in conquering death and rising on the first day of the week.
“And if Christ is not risen, then our preaching is empty and your faith is also empty.  Yes, and we are found false witnesses of God, because we have testified of God that He raised up Christ, whom He did not raise up — if in fact the dead do not rise.  For if the dead do not rise, then Christ is not risen.  And if Christ is not risen, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins!  Then also those who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished.  If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men the most pitiable” (1 Corinthians 15:14-19).
Question – Jesus, 119
 ~ Regarding Seasoning ~
Introduction  ~  This series is about questions involving Jesus.  Some were asked by individuals involved with Jesus Christ while He walked on earth.  Others are questions that Jesus Christ asked others.  We will look at questions on over 130 topics (some may split into two or more posts).  Even so, it is far from an exhaustive list.
Scripture  ~  Jesus said, “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned?  It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.
“You are the light of the world.  A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.  Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.  Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:13-15).
Comments  ~  The Church enabled by the power of the Spirit of God are the restraining forces against evil in our world.  One day, I believe very soon, both will be removed from earth and evil will be unrestrained.
God Is My… , 4
 ~ God Is My Advocate ~
Introduction  ~  Previously (July 16, 2017 – January 6, 2019) ALN posted a series of 82 posts of “Jesus is…,” and then we looked exclusively at who “God is…” from the Book of Psalms (February 9, 2020 – December 5, 2021).  We are now considering “God is…” statements from non-Psalms passages.
Passage  ~  “My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin.  And if anyone sins, we have an Advocatewith the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.  And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world” (1 John 2:1-2).
This Year I Will …
 ~ … Make Just One Commitment ~
Introduction  ~  One of the reasons many New Year Resolutions fail is that they are just one resolve of many.  It becomes overwhelming to accomplish them all and in the end few, if any, of the resolutions are accomplished.
Suggestion  ~  Resolve to do just one thing everyday in 2022.  If you succeed with this one thing it will resolve many other issues in life.  Here it is: Each morning as you arise from your bed take a few minutes (even one minute will do) to reflect upon the Cross of Calvary and what it means to you personally.
Comment  ~  I have been trying to make this an absolute daily habit for some time now.  I don’t always succeed, but I’m improving.  This one simple thing does wonders in many ways as you live your daily life!
The Most Important Issue In Life  ~  Have you settled your eternal destiny?  Right this moment you are headed for either heaven or hell – there is no third alternative.  Unless you make a deliberate decision you are headed to an eternal punishment.  If you are ready to receive the forgiveness and loving acceptance that Christ offers then it is as simple as A-B-C:
A” ~ Admit that you have sinned and need a strength beyond your own.
B” ~ Believe in the power of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
C” ~ Choose to trust Christ as your Savior and to learn of Him, seek to follow Him, and in so doing possess “the peace that passes any human understanding.”
Reflect On 2021
 ~ How Much Progress? ~
Introduction  ~  Many would argue that our world experienced a tough year in 2021.  The COVID virus is a world-wide issue.  Many governments are going through dramatic change which can cause great uncertainties.
Responsibility  ~  If you are a Christian you are to be growing more and more like Christ as you wait for His return.  Did you become more Christ-like in 2021?
Reflection  ~  Did you grow intellectually in 2021?  Did you intentionally pay attention to your physicalhealth in 2021?  How about spiritualgrowth in 2021?  And, what about your socialinteraction and skills?  Remember your example and role model is none other than Jesus Christ!  Jesus said, “Follow Me.”
Scripture  ~  “And Jesus increased in wisdom [intellectually] and stature [physically], and in favor with God [spiritually] and men [socially]” (Luke 2:52).
Closing Question  ~  Are you willing be even more intentional in 2022?
The Most Important Issue In Life  ~  Have you settled your eternal destiny?  Right this moment you are headed for either heaven or hell – there is no third alternative.  Unless you make a deliberate decision you are headed to an eternal punishment.  If you are ready to receive the forgiveness and loving acceptance that Christ offers then it is as simple as A-B-C:
Binary, 4
 ~ Binary Foundations: Rock or Sand~
Series Comment  ~  When it comes to spiritual paths it is strictly a binary choice.
(1)   It is a choice between the True or False.  “Jesus said to him [Thomas], ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through Me’” (John 14:6).  [See Post #1 in this series.]
(2)   It is a choice between Do or Done.  Jesus said, “It [the work of salvation] is finished!” (John 19:30).  Your Doing can add nothing to what Christ has Done for you.  [See Post #2 in this series.]
(3)   It is your choice between Religion or Relationship.  Religions are geared toward self-effort whereas Christianity is an intimacy with the only One who can save.  Jesus said, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock.  If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me” (Revelation 3:20).  [See Post #3 in this series.}
Scripture  ~  Jesus said, “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.  But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell.  And great was its fall” (Matthew 7:24-27).
Comment  ~  How is your foundation?
