I write legal mysteries set in a community of people recovering from alcoholism and addiction. Leopold Larson, the protagonist in my books, is a recovering lawyer trying to make a living in the world of dead people and those who hope to inherit from them. His clients are people fighting over other people's money and his colleagues are the lawyers, judges, psychologists, and social workers who make a living where those battles are fought.

When not practicing law Leo is a member of a renegade chapter of Alcoholics Anonymous. The disreputable crew that attends meetings with him provides clients, adversaries, never-ending troubles, and a reasonable amount of humor.
