Crashland cover
Hello! The cover of Crashland, the sequel to Twinmaker, has just been revealed to the world. I'm really happy with it--very pleased that Clair gets her moment in the spotlight. I hope you'll like it too!
I'm going to try to post it below. Here's hoping it works. :-)

Further adventures in Twinmakerland
Hello! It's silly season and I'm giving away stuff. Well, not really (not at the moment, but watch this space). There's simply a whole bunch of stories set in the Twinmaker universe available to read for free right now. Here's a link that will take you to a directory with other links and whatnot. All the stories connect up to Twinmaker in one way or another, via characters as well as the world--and January will see the launch of "I, Q", a serial telling the story of the novel from Q's point of view.
Perfect for reading in hot AND cold weather, wherever you're hanging out this time of year.
Have a good one!

Twinmaker, Twinmaker and more Twinmaker!
Hello, Goodreads! It's been ages since I checked in here, except to post what I've been reading. Thought I'd better pull my finger out. I've been working madly on the sequel to TWINMAKER, but at odd moments I've also been posting to my new site, where you can find links to lots of reviews, interviews, articles and short stories set in the Twinmaker universe, and much more. I'll post something exclusive to Goodreads soon, because that's only fair, but if you're interested in learning more this will tide you over.
Anyway, thanks for all your feedback. Even if you haven't loved the book, I really appreciate you reading it and telling the world!

meet the new seanwilliams, not the same as the old seanwilliams
I have a new site and a new blog. Yes, I'm joining the great exodus to WordPress! I was originally going to crosspost here, but it seemed like a good opportunity to migrate to my

username, so that's what I'll aim to do. Out with the old, in with the new--but I hope you'll follow me across. I'll miss you if you don't!

Intensely editing TWINMAKER at the moment, so apologies for being especially tardy on all fronts. Ordinary everyday tardiness will resume soon.

mathrimony
On Monday, the wonderful Amanda returns from Canada, where she's been on a rather inconveniently timed research trip. Our schedules are often like this: she's home while I'm away, then I'm home while she's away. Sometimes we overlap for a few days, home or abroad, and that's always nice--but do jetlagged days really count as days, or are they just wistful dreams of far-off normality?
Anyway, we worked out this morning that in total we've spent just two weeks out of the last eleven together. And that, on anyone's calculator, is a rather sad result. So extra excitement for Monday. Roll out the champagne and hold all calls! At last my heart will be where my home is.

"spark" and "structure" strike a pose
Just heard via the most excellent
jennyblackford
that both my humongous novellas from last year were honorably mentioned by Gardner Dozois in his Year's Best SF 28. Woohoo! That's "The Spark (A Romance in Three Acts)" and "A Glimpse of the Marvelous Structure (and the Threat It Entails)". This makes makes me very happy.
