Sharing the Joy of Fermentation at the Decatur Book Festival

What a joy my presentation and book signing at the Decatur Book Festival turned out to be! From the moment I arrived on the morning of October 4, 2025, the staff and volunteers made me feel right at home. The culinary demonstration room filled quickly with friendly faces, and as everyone settled in, we shared smiles, stories, and lots of hugs before the start of the event featuring my new cookbook, The Modern Pioneer Pantry.

Fall’s Here But the AC Is Still On!

Technically, fall won’t arrive here in the Texas Hill Country until Monday, September 22, 2025, at 1:19 pm Central Time.
