You've handled it well.

And, Oh wow, it would be fab to get a film deal, and a real feat to tell this story climatically. Your dialog is great! And I can 'see' everything, but how to translate that to film and stay true to the story would be a challenge. The effects could be amazing though.

(I'm 35% in on my Kindle and I really love this story. It reminds me of being a teen and reading 'I never Promised you a Rose Garden', by Joanne Greenberg. Will talk more about this with you when I'm through!

Thanks Kim! It was SOOO much work balancing all those competing voices. And aside from writing with one sense tied behind my back, while needing to describe two worlds happening at once, it was also a huge challenge using a covert narrator who's so offbeat that his presence stays well in the background where it's barely even noticeable at first. Neccessary that way, though, for reasons you'll eventually discover...

(Aside from Mira's unique condition, the covert narrator is also the character who hooked Geoffrey Rush's interest recently, when he asked me for more information with a view to adapting DE to a movie... Fingers crossed anyway. As you know yourself, film adaptation is such a long process and can fall through for so many of the weirdest reasons, sigh.)
