Paperback Copy vs Audio Books
Avid readers have their own way to enjoy reading. Some prefer study groups and book clubs while others prefer to close their eyes and be transported through listening. Many use any method or format available to learn and are always eager to expand their horizons. This is what makes people unique from each other - their mental processes. As a result, any medium of learning like reading or listening materials come with their own set of advantages and disadvantages, and that's where the debate begins.
AUDIO BOOKS
Pros: Available online, in cassette tapes, CD or even DVD.
You can play them anytime you want while you are studying. You have the option to do other things as you listen such as: exercising, traveling, relaxing or working. You can hit the rewind button if you miss something and can also hit fast-forward if you find some parts dull or repetitive.
Cons: You will not be able to highlight a specific part of the book or lesson. Not all books are available in audio format.
PAPERBACK BOOKS
Pros: Available online or in book stores in your local area.
You have the luxury to read between the lines when trying to understand the entire text. You can jot down quotes, lines or thoughts from the book or highlight important parts so you can go back to them easily when you need to.
Cons: Books can be heavy and hard to store on shelves when compared to compact discs. If you don't understand the entire text you've read, you may need to read the entire book again to be able to comprehend the material. When you read for a few hours, your eyes can get tired and your attention can drift.
Final Verdict: The most important thing when it comes to books is to gain knowledge, subject appreciation, enjoyment and a better understanding through reading and listening, so be sure to choose whatever format best suits your needs.
Fortunately, for my readers, my books are available in all formats, including: pdf, paperback, kindle, mobi, and audio. If you need to recall a phrase, a word search will do the trick, and the only place you need to store them is in your imagination. So if thrills and adventure are your forte, consider a visit to my book shelf and allow me the opportunity to take you to another world. - Kaylin
