The situation with how the hardbacks go out is still the same - you can get the new versions in ebook, trade paperback, hardback, and trophy hardback complete with a snazzy dust cover! The trophy hardback is from B&N.com only, as a reminder, and the regular hardback is from Amazon only.

The searching via Amazon and B&N.com remains spotty, in no small part because those two distributors still have some mass market copies they're determined to sell. So, as suggested for Touched and Tango, and as recommended for every book coming through 16/Aliens Abroad, go to the Ginger Blue Releases page, click on the cover of your choosing, and choose which option or options you want. The links on GBP's website will take you to the right spots at B&N and Amazon to get the version you want.

Confusing? Yes. Ultimately manageable? Sure. It's only adding a step to what you'd normally do.

Now for the old reviews status. On B&N all the review seem to have stuck. Not so on  Amazon -- they were there for all and, suddenly, they were not. SO, Alien Tango, Alien in the Family, Alien in the House, and Alien Research do not have all their reviews connected to the new versions. We have no idea why. Yes, they may connect at a later date, we have no idea if that will or won't happen, and if they do connect, if they'll actually remain.

SO, please review early and often on either site, but particularly on Amazon, since, as we well know, reviews matter, especially at Amazon, B&N, and Goodreads.

So, officially, now the first eleven books are live everywhere! And the twelfth will probably be live before the next newsletter! Huzzah!

I know, if I didn't tell you I was going on a trip, did I even leave? Well, I did leave, all stealth-like, but I'm home now, from a wedding, and getting ready to go to a military graduation next week.

Con Season Is Over and That Means It's Recap Time!

San Diego Comic-Con was it's usual super, in size and experience both, our booth was hopping, and my panel was great. Gen Con and the Gen Con Writers Symposium was pretty much made of awesome all the way around and we got to visit the Kurt Vonnegut Museum, too! DragonCon was really great, with awesome panels and signings, as well as busy booth time. And Bouchercon was in New Orleans, so we all know I loved it. The best parts were getting to see Members of the Alien Collective in Very Good Standing at all four cons.

Thanks to fellow Con Warrior, Jamie Garner, for all the mutual support (it's why she's in, like, all the con pics, 'cause we were together at all the cons), and thanks to my teams that helped at most of the cons. SDCC: Joseph Gaxiola and Bellana Cannistraro. DragonCon: Chrysta Stuckless and Liz Gooch. Bouchercon: Chrysta Stuckless. Jamie and I would not have survived this con rodeo without all y'all and we love you for all you do!

Hey there!

There's a new Kickstarter in town, and it's Unidentified Funny Objects 10. And you have first crack at tuckerizations (aka my putting your name, or name of choice, in lights in the story). Most authors kill their tuckers. I tend to make mine the stars and keep them around forever.

The title is "The Cat Lady Cometh," currently planned as a new standalone (but we know how that tends to go, too, right?), and it should be a lot of fun with, you know, the standard mayhem and all that jazz.

Do you like funny science fiction and fantasy? Short stories that are humorous, unusual, and most of all fun? The Unidentified Funny Objects anthology series has been publishing such stories for the past thirteen years! (GK edit: And I'm in most of them!) In that time I have edited nine volumes as well as three supplemental books of reprint stories (Funny SF, Funny Fantasy, and Funny Horror.) The last of those came out in 2022.

Then, I took a break. Well, not really a break. I was busy doing All The Things. But UFO has always been my passion project and I clawed out some extra time (mostly by sleeping less) to finally, finally work on UFO10.

The goal of this campaign is to produce the latest volume in the series of funny, irreverent anthologies of humorous  science fiction and fantasy short stories. The series features a recurring cast of amazing headliners (GK edit: like moi), and the best funny up-and-comers I can find. 

Each UFO volume features offbeat and unique stories unlike any to be found in other anthology series. We publish a range of humorous stories, from the outright hilarious to snarky (GK edit: *cough*), and try to cover a wide range of humor styles, from satire to absurdist. I already have the following stories in hand for UFO10:

"How to Make Everything Better for Everyone" -- Gamification of everything leads to its natural absurdity. -- by Jane Espenson, screenwriter of Buffy, Firefly, Gilmore Girls, Battlestar Galactica, Game of Thrones, and many other TV series.

"Opacity" (translated from Russian) -- When an AI chatbot advises a man on how to get rich quick in the kakistocracy of modern Russia, it seems to miraculously work--but not for long. -- by Leo Kaganov, award-winning author and poet whose English language translations appeared in Clarkesworld and Asimov's.

Additional authors who have also agreed to contribute a story include Caitlin Rozakis, Esther Friesner, Gini Koch, Jody Lynn Nye, and Lavie Tidhar. 

Once the funding goal is met, UFO will open to general submissions in December.

The situation with how the hardbacks go out is still the same - you can get the new versions in ebook, trade paperback, hardback, and trophy hardback complete with a snazzy dust cover! The trophy hardback is from B&N.com only, as a reminder, and the regular hardback is from Amazon only.

The searching via Amazon and B&N.com remains spotty, in no small part because those two distributors still have some mass market copies they're determined to sell. So, as suggested for Touched and Tango, and as recommended for every book coming through 16/Aliens Abroad, go to the Ginger Blue Releases page, click on the cover of your choosing, and choose which option or options you want. The links on GBP's website will take you to the right spots at B&N and Amazon to get the version you want.

Confusing? Yes. Ultimately manageable? Sure. It's only adding a step to what you'd normally do.

Now for the old reviews status. On B&N all the review seem to have stuck. Not so on  Amazon -- they were there for all and, suddenly, they were not. SO, Alien Tango, Alien in the Family, Alien in the House, and Alien Research do not have all their reviews connected to the new versions. We have no idea why. Yes, they may connect at a later date, we have no idea if that will or won't happen, and if they do connect, if they'll actually remain.

It's also Happy Anniversary to me and the Hubs. And, as seems like almost always, we're not together - he's at the Manse and I'm at Gen Con. But such is the glamorous life of an author, right?

The situation with how the hardbacks go out is still the same - you can get the new versions in ebook, trade paperback, hardback, and trophy hardback complete with a snazzy dust cover! The trophy hardback is from B&N.com only, as a reminder, and the regular hardback is from Amazon only.

The searching via Amazon and B&N.com remains spotty, in no small part because those two distributors still have some mass market copies they're determined to sell. So, as suggested for Touched and Tango, and as recommended for every book coming through 16/Aliens Abroad, go to the Ginger Blue Releases page, click on the cover of your choosing, and choose which option or options you want. The links on GBP's website will take you to the right spots at B&N and Amazon to get the version you want.

Confusing? Yes. Ultimately manageable? Sure. It's only adding a step to what you'd normally do.

Now for the old reviews status. On B&N all the review seem to have stuck. Not so on  Amazon -- they were there for all and, suddenly, they were not. SO, Alien Tango, Alien in the Family, and Alien in the House do not have all their reviews connected to the new versions. We have no idea why. Yes, they may connect at a later date, we have no idea if that will or won't happen, and if they do connect, if they'll actually remain.

SO, please review early and often on either site, but particularly on Amazon, since, as we well know, reviews matter, especially at Amazon, B&N, and Goodreads.

So, officially, now the first seven books are live everywhere! Huzzah! The Belters
