Ready for a brand-new thriller?
From the ‘Way Overdue to Share’ department: Just received the rough cover for my next book, The Devil’s Noose, which is a pandemic medical thriller. It’s a bit more sci-fi than my last series, but you may be interested in checking it out when it drops towards the end of Q1 2019!
I’ll let the blurb speak for itself.
The thing that wiped out the dinosaurs is about to make its comeback.
It’s a trillion times smaller than a killer asteroid.
And it’s fallen into the hands of a madman.
After surviving a horrific outbreak of the Black Nile virus, epidemiologist Leigh Austen’s done her best to bury memories along with the bodies.
But when a call for help from the World Health Organization (WHO) arrives at her lab, she’s got to face her nightmares all over again. Something’s wiping entire villages clean of humans and wildlife in a war-torn former Soviet Republic. Leigh’s skills are desperately needed to identify and stop the pathogen’s spread before it explodes into a global pandemic.
Austen’s team of scientists and armed security set off into the epicenter of the hot zone: over a mile straight down the throat of the Karakul, the deepest open-pit mine in Asia. From there, they’ll contend with treacherous military officers, caverns filled with scalding-hot poisonous gas, and an organism so deadly it annihilated the dinosaurs sixty-five million years ago.
What Leigh and her people discover will shake them to their very core.
If they survive.

Book 10’s Cover Image
Having celebrated Independence Day, it’s back to Andeluvia for me. Working on Book 10 of what’s going to be my first decalogy, ‘Dragon with a Deadly Weapon’.
The cover art is inspiring stuff! Dayna Chrissie up front, Sirrahon the Dragon in the back, and lots of devastation in between. Can’t wait to paint this in words.
This work is a set of digitally linked images composed by I. Vjuzhanina, an excellent artist from Ukraine.

First sketch for the cover of Book 10
Whew – between all the family stuff one has to handle during the holiday season, I’ve got a huge task getting Book 9 onto the page.
Book 10’s cover is also starting to come into shape, too! Here’s a quick close-up of Dayna Chrissie from the next book’s artwork. Should be neat to see this start filling in with color in the upcoming weeks.

A ‘Thank You’ on Conspiracy
Wow, thank you for making ‘The Conspiracy of Unicorns’ a smash on its opening weekend! You all rock! And thank you for the great reviews, such as the one below. I am truly humbled.
“In this ninth instalment of the Fantasy and Forensics, series we patient readers get some answers. We learn how Dame Dayna Chrissie pays off an important debt. We find a traitor/murderer by using forensics unknown in Andeluvia. Dayna has some closure with her homicidal boss. Or would that be “Dayna-cidal” boss? There is plenty of humor mixed in with the mystery too, as that is one of this author’s trademarks! (The homeowners association gift is a LOL moment). The unicorns in this book are VERY different than what you might expect, starting with their colours, their abilities, their names, and much more. I loved this book, and I love this series.”
