Angela Ranson writes when she can and works as an administrator when she must. In 2014, she earned a doctorate in the history of sixteenth-century England from the University of York, so she enjoys researching history as much as writing about it.

Her novels attempt to recreate the atmosphere of Tudor England, exploring fresh themes and ideas by finding fictional solutions to real-life crimes and mysteries. Her non-fiction work blends lively storytelling with interesting facts, although sometimes the stories take priority.

She enjoys collecting ghost figurines, figuring out literary puzzles, and working with the amazing volunteers at the York Literature Festival
