I guess if there was an unlimited budget, and I could just cast whoever I wanted, I would choose America Ferrera or Ana de Armas for Chloe. I'd love to have Jeffrey Wright play Dion, though Idris Elba would also be great. Maybe Christian Bale for Hellmund, Kelly Marie Tran for Kassie, and Hugh Laurie for Sir Alexander. And Kathryn Hahn for Tirzah, not necessarily because she's perfect for that role but because of my shameless crush on her.

Thanks for the question!(less)

"My thanks to both NetGalley and the publisher Blackstone Publishing for an advance copy of this new thriller set in the future where space is open to only the very wealthy, which makes it very easy to find and contain them for nefarious purposes.

“It wasn't that he seemed at all violent - rather, he had a peculiar unhinged intensity that told her that to challenge him would mean hearing him defend his hypothesis for the next forty minutes.”
Joe Pitkin, Analog Science Fiction and Fact, Volume 132, Issue 6, June 2012

“Human material culture - the buildings and roads and works that would strike any human as an obvious sign of intelligence - had for years seemed like part of an elaborate mating ritual to the starlings, useless and flamboyant as the peacock's tail.”
Joe Pitkin, Analog Science Fiction and Fact, Volume 132, Issue 6, June 2012

“A supposedly daring insight came up, disguised as a question: Dr. Cole, aren't humans the most invasive species of all? She'd fielded that one many times before, during public lectures and even in her days as a teaching assistant [...] 'I'm not unsympathetic to that line of thinking,' she answered, 'but even if it's true, we're also the only species in any position to do anything about it.”
Joe Pitkin, Analog Science Fiction and Fact, Volume 132, Issue 6, June 2012
