Jorge Magano did not have it easy. His novel TURNED TO STONE went up against 700 books from 32 different countries. But the sense of humor of his hero Jaime Azcárate and a gripping plot steeped in art and history quickly captivated the millions of Kindle readers around the world. His book La mirada de piedra won the Literary Contest for Independent Authors, the first competition for ‘Indie’ authors in Spanish organized by Amazon, the newspaper El Mundo and publisher La Esfera de los Libros.
