Jesus taught in parables because they engage the heart in inward reflection, much like a novel. And He will take you anywhere--everywhere. God is a Storyteller, the Author and Finisher of our faith. The Bible is extremely visual and creatively written (Isaiah; Revelation; Song of Solomon). While the Holy Spirit inspires and leads you creatively as an author, He reveals His character within the art of storytelling. As a novelist, you get to see the world from God's perspective, typologically, and, in turn, it changes your own soul and makes you kinder of heart, more patient with timelines, and it gains you an eternal frame in which to live. It's fascinating to me how God reveals who He is through our unique and creative purpose. The voice of God whispers through the ink that emerges on the page and the novelist follows. I can think of nothing better to do with my time. (less)

Trinity: A Novel

The following is the Foreword of the upcoming release, Trinity: A Novel by Dawn Dyson [Copyright pending; published by Mercy Sky, LLC]If truth is stranger than fiction, sanctification is stranger than truth. There is a point where all of it is woven together, like a wheel, so it can move (Eze 1:16, 19, 20, 21; 10:17; Rev 4:3)[1] and God can speak through it. We cry out for wholeness in our lives, Read more of this blog post »
