How to make a short story long…
Last July my novella, Break Out, was released by Entangled publishing. Break Out is book 1 in my Blood Hunter series, a combination of Sci-fi adventure and paranormal romance – sort of vampires in space.
Then earlier this year, my publishers signed with a distributor and now the series is to be released in trade paperback and available in bookshops everywhere (hurray!). It was decided that book 1 in the series really needed to be included, and so I was asked to extend Break Out to novel length.
It was actually no hardship as the book was great fun to write. Rico—space pirate, vampire and hero of Break Out—is still just about my favorite character and I had no problem spending more time with him. There is no real change to the storyline, but a few more insights into the characters, a bit more adventure and way more romance.
So next month, the extended version of Break out is coming!
