To tell the truth, there is not much to this story. I grew up in a small town and only found out I had some writing ability in my senior year of high school. I had had the urge to write when I was 17, but did not know if I was any good until I took that Grade 12 Creative Writing class. An above-average grade and some praise from the teacher gave me the confidence of being able to put together a decent story.

I had other plans for my future at that time, however. A different career plan took me down what ended up being a dead-end street (figuratively speaking, of course).
