“I really feel that we're not giving children enough credit for distinguishing what's right and what's wrong. I, for one, devoured fairy tales as a little girl. I certainly didn't believe that kissing frogs would lead me to a prince, or that eating a mysterious apple would poison me, or that with the magical "Bibbity-Bobbity-Boo" I would get a beautiful dress and a pumpkin carriage. I also don't believe that looking in a mirror and saying "Candyman, Candyman, Candyman" will make some awful serial killer come after me. I believe that many children recognize Harry Potter for what it is, fantasy literature. I'm sure there will always be some that take it too far, but that's the case with everything. I believe it's much better to engage in dialog with children to explain the difference between fantasy and reality. Then they are better equipped to deal with people who might have taken it too far.”

“There are books full of great writing that don't have very good stories. Read sometimes for the story... don't be like the book-snobs who won't do that. Read sometimes for the words--the language. Don't be like the play-it-safers who won't do that. But when you find a book that has both a good story and good words, treasure that book.”

I am soooo excited! I've been talking with my #1 fan and we are going to work together to get my book signings booked with my local library and bookstores. She is even willing to purchase the books for me for a percentage of the profits. Then one of my other friends got in touch with our local magazine and they want to interview me! How cool is that? Wow, I feel like I'm on a roller coaster ride. Anyone have any advice?

Hey friends! Had lunch yesterday to sign another book. I've been getting sterling reviews. People have been saying things like "Couldn't put it down!" "Better than Twilight!" "Once I finished I turned back to the front and started reading it again!" "Loved it! The characters are painted so vividly!" Now they are asking when's the sequel coming out. I am so excited that something I wrote has given some many people pleasure. It's humbling...and mindboggling.
Thank you for inviting me to be your Goodreads friend. Congratulations on your book. How exciting for you that your book is doing so well and getting good reviews. It will encourage you to write the next one. Laurel
Thanks Laurel,I am actually writing two more novels and have ideas for two more. It should keep me busy for a few years at least.
I have to say the whole thing is kinda surreal, but I've got my seat belt on!
Please check it out. As you know, I did all the editing. There are a few errors that slipped through the cracks but it hasn't seemed to be a problem. No one who has read it or reviewed it has even mentioned the editing. They just loved the story. My dream come true would be if a major (heck, I'll take a minor) publishing company swooped in like my prince charming and offered me a contract. That would be sooooo KEWL!!!
lol thanks for the add!!!dont mind me askin...taking a whole lot of antibiotic for my infected burn, but got sick instead lol so i feel a little groogy!...what book was it that i marked "to-read" thus end up with u addin me?

I'm glad that you're feeling better. Sorry you're having nightmares though.
Wow, that's a lot of money for a book. How much are ebooks over there?
We complain when we have to pay fifteen dollars and a hard back book. There are so many stores that sell books as cheap as five dollars!
I've always wanted to go to New Zealand. I guess I'd have to pack one whole suitcase with nothing but books.
Hey all my friends. I really need you to go to Best Ever Contemporary Romance Books and vote for Her Sanctuary. I only ask you to do this if you have read the book and liked it. Thanks!!Oh yeah, it's located on page 3 at the bottom.
Leah *~*Pherocious*~* wrote: "Thanks for the friendvite and I'm looking forward to reading your book; it sounds great :)"Thanks Leah! I could tell by your profile pic that you would definitely love this book. Yummy!!
Hi! Thanks for sending the friend invite yesterday. I saw on a friends page where she added your book so I went to check it out and it sounds really good. I've got a rather large list of books that Im going to the store with to find. Most women have shoe or purse addictions, but mine is with books LoL. Do you happen to know if your book is offered at local book stores or is it an online thing only? Thanks again!
Hey Stacey!Unfortunately it is only on the online websites but you can order from just about anywhere including amazon, BnN, Booksamillion. You can walk into the store and have them order it for you while you're there or order it straight from the internet. It's also available as an ebook. Go to my author's page on gr and there's a link on the right side, but no picture. Anyway, I hope you'll order it. I think you'll like it if you are a fan of romance/mysteries with a touch of supernatural. (mostly Indian folklore, spirit guides, that kind of stuff) There are many twists. Can't tell you anything else without giving away secrets so shhhh. Okay, I'm going to shut up now. Thanks again!!
Hey, no problemI love lots of those bands too!
The Twilight and New Moon soundtracks are the best!!
They introduced me to Bon Iver-- fell in ove with Justin Vernon. He's a genius.(period).
Hey, thanks for the friend request. I look forward to reading your book! I loved the Twilight saga as well. =-)
Thanks for the friends request. Your book was recommended to me by Tina and I can't wait to read it.
I've ordered a copy of your book, apparently they don't carry it in Barnes and Noble, have to order it online!!! Should get it next week some time! :D
Tracy wrote: "hi, thanx for the add, have marked your book to read, sounds like its going to be a great read :)"Hi Tracy! Thanks so much!!
Thanks for inviting me!Happy to read your answer for my question. Ok, it sounds cliche, if the topic is about Twilight. But it makes more curious and can't wait to read it ASAP. :)
Glad to know you, I'm new with novel, so next time recommend me some great books, won't you? Of course beside Twilight. :)
Hey, thanks for sharing that quote, it was really meaningful and it actually meant a lot at this point in my life, so I just wanted to thank you :)

Thanks for the rec Primal Hunger hun, I'm not sure I can find it, the second book looks to be coming to Canada. So I'll have to check it out!T~
Thanks for the friendship...I find it terribly interesting you use the nom de plume, P.Q. Glisson. You see, where I was raised we were always told to watch our P's and Q's. So, it seems to follow that I should watch you!
M.C. wrote: "Thanks for the friendship...I find it terribly interesting you use the nom de plume, P.Q. Glisson. You see, where I was raised we were always told to watch our P's and Q's. So, it seems to follow t..."Hey M.C. (any kin to M.C. Hammer? lol) Just kidding!
It is funny about my initials, isn't it? Actually, they P. stands for Phyllis and the Q. is the first letter in my maiden name. I've always hated the name Phyllis. I was growing up at the same time Phyllis Diller was popular and people would call me by her name, making fun of me. My Dad was a little more gracious. He usually called me Phyllis Dillis. Then I had a girl I worked with who called me Phyl Dill. So you see why I chose to use the initials instead? lol
Anyway, thanks for accepting my friend request.
"I'll be watching you too!" lol
It is amusing that I do get some references to Hammer or Beaton as they share my initials. I rather like MC as it as easily known as the word, "emcee' and my true initials. And after your reply, I have assume that your name is not a nom de plume, either.

M.C. wrote: "So, I am assuming that 'PQ' is not a nom de plume? COOl!"No, it's not. But my dad said that if my middle name was Denise, my initials would be P.D.Q. (pretty damn quick) lol
